Friendly and welcoming if a little tatty.

Great service and friendly staff but the infrastructure is a little tatty - peeling wallpaper, chipped paint, ageing decor and bathrooms. The price was low and the place was clean so overall I'd say decent value.

Pros: Staff
Cons: Quality of bathroom, it would not cost a lot to rectify this situation, a set of new towels would help...
Expensive, seriously down in the heal hotel. Staff where very good but the fact that we where paying for the executive room gave us expectations of reasonable quality. The 1970's style jaccuzi bath did not work and we where told this on arrival. The towels where washed to death and badly fraying at the edges. We would never stay at this place again. They did store our cases for us for a couple of hours and this was helpfull, but the charge of £290.00 for two nights was OTT.

Misleading website

Posted Aug 26, 2013
Cons: Parking needs to be organised as it's a huge headache for out-of-town visitors. Towels need to be replaced - you can't supply ragged towels to guests!
Location: Staff didn't seem very clued-up on restaurants that were open nearby in the evening.
No parking despite hotel website stating otherwise & being assured on the phone there was parking! The room smelt musty, towels were very ragged, shower was broken - you couldn't adjust the angle. The only good point was that the bed was comfy. Certainly not worth the money. Check-out is quite early at 10am and doesn't give you much time after breakfast which is between 830-930. Disappointing. What the website promised, certainly didint deliver! The pictures advertised were also very misleading.

Pros: Breakfast was fine
Cons: Cleanliness
Location: Excellent on seafront
There is not a lot of cheap hotels in Eastbournes but we were only going for a weekend to see a friend so just decided on getting the cheapest and thats what we got when we saw the hotel. Someone has not found the duster, polish and hoover in years !

Good location but not ideal for business

Posted Aug 4, 2013 on Hotels
Very basic, Unfortunately wi fi not available in the rooms. Breakfast starts at 8 so too late if you are on business. There is no parking for the hotel, however there is parking along the main road that's free from 6pm till 8am.

Great location but needs more renovation

Posted Jul 29, 2013
Pros: Location with views out to sea
Cons: Breakfast and no wi-fi
Location: Right on the "front" looking across to France and able to watch the world promenade by!
The staff did all they could to make me welcome and to try and resolve issues as they occurred. I moved to three rooms during my stay and one was excellent, newly renovated (except for a broken jacuzzi) and comfortable but without wi-fi. The common areas however are showing their age and given the price of the rooms, needs renovation to ensure value for money paid. Several deficiencies in the rooms need to be considered to reach the standard of the price for the rooms: a) no telephone in the room and for a foreigner without a cell phone this makes life difficult; b) wi-fi needs improving - it is sort of available but only with strong enough signal on the first floor so if guests need e-mail or streaming services, forget most of the rooms (manager trying to resolve this); c) common areas need renovation e.g. tables in the front sitting area are extremely shabby, but this is a prime space for relaxing.
