A Grand hotel

Posted Dec 16, 2017
Pros: The warm welcome and the comfort
Cons: During a quite cold December the bathroom in room 217 is not very warm
Location: Eastbourne is very reserved in comparison to nearby Brighton - much nicer, Beachy Head and Seven Sisters Close by, all lovely
One the best hotels that I have stayed in, a warm welcome from the staff wherever I went, very nice breakfast, free, fast wi-fi and free private parking, unusual to find to such a large hotel so well looked after, this is a hotel that makes you feel special.

Highly recommended

Posted Dec 13, 2017
Pros: I love space, peace and quiet and much appreciate having friendly staff around. The Grand offers all of that and much more.
Cons: On Sundays many people book tables for afternoon tea so if you are a hotel guest you may not necessarily get a table to have a drink.
Location: Spectacular seafront location. Walking distance to the town centre as well as the Seven Sisters.
Loved my stay from the moment I walked in until I left. Fabulous staff, unique atmosphere, excellent facilities, lovely and spacious room and of course an exceptional location. I am still smiling. Highly recommended and worth every penny.

Lovely hotel near the beach

Posted Nov 27, 2017
Pros: The hotel had excellent facilities, friendly staff, comfortable stay, tasty breakfast
Cons: Nothing
Location: The hotel is near the beach, not far away from the town centre or the Pier. It is not far from Beachy Head and yet the location is in the quite part
I was greeted by very kind staff and I was made totally welcome. I was celebrating my 80th birthday and the management even sent me a birthday card on behalf of the staff. I was asked regularly if I wanted tea or coffee although there were also facilities in the room. My evening was pleasant spending some quality time next to the open fire with my children and grandchildren who were also made welcome as my guests. Breakfast was rich and very good quality with an extended menu for Gourmets.

Excellent old world charm.

Posted Nov 24, 2017
Pros: Style, grace and old world charm. Very high standards of staff and how they treat guests.
Cons: It is an old hotel, and is showing some wrinkles, but that is part of the charm.
The hotel is a little tired in places and could do with a refresh, but, to be honest, that might ruin some of its charm. There was a small issue caused by other guests, but the hotel's response was faultless, looking after us above and beyond expectation for an issue that was not their fault. Very impressive.

Fantastic Hotel Staff Brilliant

Posted Nov 2, 2017
Pros: EVERYTHING!!!!
Cons: As far as we were concerned we have nothing but praise for the hotel and the staff.
Location: Ideal location opposite the sea front with a very clean promenade, restaurants nearby along with shops. Beachy Head a short drive away also Brighton.
The hotel was fantastic with brilliant staff who could not do enough for us. From the Concierge to the Restaurant, Room Service and Cocktail Bar, staff were brilliant and made it a very special weekend. Pure Luxury, along with my wife and I we had our daughter (24) and my wife's mother (87) with us and everybody had a thoroughly good time. The hotel situation was perfect to walk along the promenade. We will certainly visit again in the near future.

Has to be one of the best hotels in England

Posted Oct 27, 2017
Pros: Everything. The feel is large, elegant, Edwardian and very restful. Fantastic breakfast. Great room service. Can't recommend it highly enough.
Cons: Some rooms are a bit dodgy with wi-fi. Worth checking that it works properly
Location: Eastbourne. Quiet - lovely seafront. Beachy Head nearby.
Great hotel - we go back and back. The staff incredibly helpful and the spa and fitness room very well run. An excellent place for a restful break.

Lovely old hotel with old fashioned service

Posted Oct 23, 2017
Pros: Staff except the man organising the parking who was on a bit of a power trip, I know he could park my car, but so can I.
Cons: Fix the bedroom windows so that they don't rattle and then all customer would have a good night sleep.
We arrived with my 90yr old father in law and mother in law who is 85. Disabled parking beside the entrance was blocked off, we did have disabled parking on view on dashboard. They would not allow us to park, so had to pull up outside the entrance, empty the car. Then they wanted to drive our car around. Waste of time. Should have just allowed us to park in the first place. Position of power. The Saturday night was very stormy. The sash windows rattled all night long, so very little sleep was had. Staff had been in our room while we were having supper, they would have noticed the noise. When mentioning to staff at reception they they informed me that I should have informed them, they have wedges. Frankly the windows should not rattle at all, very disruptive. The staff in the dinning room, lounge & bar were very nice and good service provided. But to stay again and not have any sleep, no way.
