Convenient hotel

Posted Jan 3, 2017
Within walking distance of town, nice view, large rooms, minimal breakfast - no eggs, hot water not always available. Don't rely on wifi.

Location: It is a quick 5 minute walk to the main street of Hanga Roa. We could easily walk downtown and to many of the Moai's.
The hotel was a basic hotel with a descent location. It had everything we needed to explore Easter Island. The hotel manager is what really made this hotel fantastic. Mancho picked us up at the airport and then the next morning set us up with some great, inexpensive, tours of the island for two days. He also organized a local dinner performance to highlight the local culture. The restaurant he recommended, Tataku Vave, had excellent food, but the view was even better at sunset. We would definitely stay here again if we make it back to Easter Island.

Rundown hotel with poor facilities

Posted Dec 10, 2016
Pros: The garden.
Cons: The hotel needs a complete renovation and staff need to learn English.
Location: The location was within walking distance of points of interest.
Apart from the man who collected me at the airport and drove me to the hotel, none of the staff spoke English. Although spacious, my room was rundown. The towels were threadbare and during my five-day stay they were never changed. There wasn't any shampoo in the bathroom which was small and without an expel-air vent. You get what you pay for.

More of an Inn or Bed and Breakfast than a hotel.

Posted Nov 13, 2016
Pros: It was better priced than some other options on Easter Island.......but not necessarily cheap. Pick up from and drop off to the airport.
Cons: Very dated. Needs some upgrades. The sheets were threadbare. The entire feel was old and tired. Would appear to be running at a very basic level and certainly should drop the Hotel in the name and it would lower expectations and minimise disappointment. No effort had been made to even trim the lawn....it almost looked like an abandoned property. The driveway up to it was overgrown and only one lamp on the driveway at night, so it was very dark walking up and the ground was rocky and uneven. We were there for a week (which admittedly is longer than most people's stay) and the breakfast was the same every morning with the exception of some avocado on three days and cereal for the children staying there on two days.
Location: Convenient location, walking distance to town, restaurants and airport.

Nice hotel just a block from a main street.

Posted Oct 12, 2016
Pros: Pick up and drop off at the airport was very convenient. Breakfast also included. They booked and delivered a rental car right to the hotel.
We liked the location, top of a hill with ocean view and a breeze. Short walk to shops and restaurants.

Quiet and Close

Posted Aug 29, 2016
Pros: Owner very helpful. Quiet and close to walk to town, ocean.
We were picked up at the airport and given quick tour of town. Very quiet at hotel, we were only ones there. Room spacious, clean, quiet. Breakfast fine. Owner very helpful getting us signed up for tour very first afternoon. Gave us a gift when we left. May be more fun with more people, but low season.

The manager of the hotel Moncho was helpful with suggestions on restaurants and sights to see. He helped make our stay on the island exceptional. Easter Island is an island paradise but not as developed or over hyped as HI.

HOTEL IS CLOSED

Posted May 28, 2016
Pros: NOTHING.
Cons: Yes, this place is closed and it would be nice if you can enlist it from your website. I traveled from NYC and it was very disappointing to get there.
Location: The location is terrible. There are no signs or a road to get there. Also, no street lights at night.
When I booked the Hotel, I emailed them and within a few days received confirmation that I will be picked up and dropped on on my arrival and departure days. When I landed too my surprise there was no one waiting. I asked how to get to the hotel and was informed it was about a 25 minute walk. I did not mind because I only had a backpack and really wanted to explore the island. The people of the island are very friendly, warm and helpful. When I got to where everyone pointed I could not find it. Finally, I found it. There is no road going there and it is in the back of some bushes with no road signs. When I got to the hotel there was no one at the front desk. I waited and then decided to walk around to see if I would see anyone. There were no guests and the place was completely deserted. I waled to a neighbors house and the informed me that the hotel is closed. Luckily there are hostels all over and I went to another one and stayed there for the remainder of my trip. DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE.
