Best hotel on Easter Island

Posted Sep 7, 2015 on Hotels
Taura'a Hotel was fantastic. The family, Edith, Bill, Karen and Rube were great hosts. Rube made the most delicious breakfasts - vegetable omelettes and crepes - with fresh fruit and fruit smoothies. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, and the showers were strong! The hotel was located within walking distance to the water and to all the restaurants. Perfect stay,,, would definitely come back!

Short but sweet

Posted Jul 9, 2015 on Hotels
It was a short stay but the hotel provided us with comprehensive guiding so we got an afternoon and the following morning tours to see the quarry, several moan sites, downtown Rapa Nui, and the petroglyphs...

Basic amenities provided

Posted Jan 5, 2015 on Hotels
This is a very basic hotel that lacks amenities. The rooms are small and have no air conditioning - ceiling fans are provided. I stayed in the summer and during the day the temperature soared into the eighties. Beds are tiny and the walls are paper thin. There is no anti-scald feature for the showers so one has to be very careful when using them. There is a coffee maker provided but it was rusty and old. Breakfast was family style and depended on what was being served that morning. Wi-Fi depended on how far your room was from the main breakfast area - if it was close, then wi-fi was available in your room otherwise you were out of luck. The staff was only available in the morning hours.
