Edith and Bill were wonderful hosts. They met us at the airport and took up back for our return flight. The breakfast provided is wonderful. The rooms are simple, comfortable and air condited with lovely verandas to sit out side and seating in a lovely outdoor lobby . When we were on the islandt.our plane was canceled creating chaos as almost all hotels in town were full. Despite being full Edith found a way to accommodate us speaking with other guests. I am.in my 60s, did not have camping gear so it would have been difficult for me to sleep all night outside or on the condrete as it is a very small airport. I am grateful for all they did for us during our stay and highly recommend this hotel, which is small and more like a very comfortable and veey welcoming homestay.

This is a lovely and very convenient place to stay. But the REAL attraction is Edith, the owner. She is a delightful women whose attention to detail and her guests is almost unprecedented in my experience. Like most hotels, even the nicest ones, I'll eventually forget the details. But I wont forget Edith. She made this a memorable stay.

Owners are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is great. Great location, very close and walkable to shopping and many dining options. Owners also provided great recommendations for park guides to consider for tours of the island.

Very good location to everything, bed comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Bill, the manager, was very personable and provided great tips on where to eat; and set me up with a Rapanui guide who was just awesome. Bring your own shampoo as I only got one tiny bottle and it was not replaced. No bar soap, shower gel or tissue provided. Bed lamps were more like spot lights versus lamps. Sometimes got 2 towels, sometimes one. A/C installed but I never needed it as wx was lovely and ceiling fan kept temps pleasant.

The property is located in the perfect spot in town, making it easy to walk to get dinner, go to a tour agency, or walk to the beach. Along with that, the staff is incredibly nice and accommodating, making sure you get to and from the airport easily, and making breakfast, among other things! The property itself is also beautiful, lovely flowers everywhere, the rooms themselves are large and clean, have air conditioning, and each room has a patio to sit outside on!

Excellent breakfast. Convenient location -able to walk to waterfront and many restaurants. Owners were very accommodating-transportation to and from airport-willingly picked up hat I had inadvertently left on tour van.

Bill is very helpful and showed us the best places to eat and go. Edith however seemed to take great delight in delaying various guests when leaving and was not customer orientated. However overall the Hotel is good value if you get AC and TV, which we did.

I really enjoyed the stay. The bed was comfortable. They are one of the few hotels on the island that has wifi. Most don't.

Cute place in town
This is a cute place in a great location. It is not on the water but it is right in town so you can walk to shops and restaurants. The service was great and the staff was excellent. They were able to help us coordinate our plans, get a rental car, schedule a tour. They were very helpful. My only suggestion is that the bathroom, especially the shower, needs some TLC. It is a bit grimy and the floor is soft. If it had a nice bathroom it would have been the perfect stay.

A good hotel on Easter Island
The location of Taura'a Hotel is excellent, in the middle of the town and walking distance to many restaurants, shops and, Ahu Tahai. It is also less than a mile to airport, the hotel provides complimentary airport transportation. The hotel is simple but serves its purpose. No air conditioning in room but a ceiling fan. The breakfast was good, better than most hotels in its class. The owner's husband was very nice and helpful, drove us around the town and gave lots of insights after picked us up from airport. We booked a triple room with 3 adults and one child at Hotels.com, however, with triple room, the hotel honors only three breakfast, the child needs to pay at $27/day. However, the owner waived us the charge as a Christmas gift. The wi-fi was not good, extremely slow and only limited in the reception area with no signal in the room.

Iorana Thank you for your comment, we try our best in the services, the wifi is always a problem on the island as the internet is very slow, this is because we live so far away and so isolated, it is a problem of connectivity from chile. We now have one of the fastest wifi on the island, so no more problem with connection. Best Regards

A very attentive owner that puts pride in her work. Edith was very hospitable and made the best breakfast and fresh juice every morning for us. The hotel is centrally located and can walk to every where with restaurants and dance show near by.

A Little Touch of Paradise
The price of the hotel is great. This is a charming boutique hotel, very near to the main street downtown (within 50 steps from the front entrance) with numerous restaurants, shops and small grocery stores. The room was newly decorated by Edith, the owner. She also cooked a wonderful breakfast for me and others. This hotel has a refrigerator, coffee maker and TV plus lots of storage room. We stayed at another more expensive hotel without refrigerator or coffee maker (which surprise us). Another surprising bonus is Edith's offer of a 10% discount at certain restaurants and a car rental company.

Very pleasant stay. Picked up and returned to airport. Given tour of Hanga Roa. Room was clean. Hotel is in pleasant setting - set back from Main Street. Delicious breakfast - fruits, bread, ham, cheese, fruit smoothie, with option for eggs - served daily. During my stay, hotel was managed by sister of owner's wife. She was very friendly, informative. Highly recommend the Tauraa Hotel.

Staying Among the Moai
Hotel Tauraa is excellent for many reasons: wonderful Hanga Roa location within easy walking distance of many restaurants, shops, shows, car rental agencies and markets; pleasant rooms with friendly hotel staff ( Ruby will make you a fabulous breakfast ) and on-site replica moai; airport pick up and drop off are included; direct access to main island roads makes travel easy but genuine ahu/moai complexes are within easy walking distance. I have stayed at Hotel Tauraa three times already and will be staying once again in Fall 2018. I strongly recommend it.

Great hotel in a great location
​I saw several recommendations online for this hotel and it seemed like a good fit for me. It was awesome! Edith and Bill were excellent hosts and they really helped me have an enjoyable trip. They were so helpful and knowledgeable and that allowed me to make the most of the time I was on the island. The free breakfast was substantial and very good and provided a great start to the day. Being in town meant that everything I needed was close at hand and, although the hotel did not have ocean views it was a short walk to the ocean, ocean front restaurants, and to the ritual watching of the sun set at Tahai (I watched it every night but one). I highly recommend this hotel and am already planning my return trip.

Welcoming Tauraa's
I loved Tauraa's. Bill picked us up and took us for a short tour to get the lay of the land. Pointed out the post office, where to buy quality T shirts, good spot to buy beer and wine as well as several restaurant recommendations. Check-in consisted of Bill showing us to our room, giving us the key and telling us to relax and enjoy. We felt like we were staying with friends. The view from the rooms of the garden around the property with the colorful flowers and plant, and hills in the distance was so pretty. On our way out, to pick up a few items from one of the small markets, we met Bills wife. Hugs all around, we were made to feel so welcome. The prices for beer and wine in the stores were reasonable, considering the location. Brought some wine back to the room, poured a glass and sat back and enjoyed the view. Did not miss having a TV at all. Breakfast was excellent, whatever the chef is cooking up that morning and so pretty to look at. Fruit smoothie, French press coffee, and the freshly baked, crunchy, chewy bread rolls, loved it. Tauraa's arranged a tour for us with Terry, who was so laid back, grew up on the island and as a kid played in most of the areas we toured, great perspective on life, history of the island and what the future holds for the enchanting place. We could not have picked a better place to stay. We loved it.

Perfect place for a family stay
We stayed six nights during our trip to easter island. The staff was absolutely fantastic helping us organising anything we wanted and suggested things we wanted to do. They picked us up at the airport ( you need to email them and they will come even if they don't reply). The lady speaks good English and her breakfasts are delicious. We had a big family room which was very comfortable for our family or four withchairs out the front where you could sit and take in the evening after a full day of moais. There is a minimarket across the road for all your snack needs during your day excursions. It is centrally located on the Main Street and close To everything including the water for swimming. Would definitely stay again if I returned to easter island.

Very hospitable family managing the hotel - they kept water bottles in the refrigerator every day. Neat and clean rooms. It is right on the main street, easy walking distance to the coast. They made fresh breakfast everyday - which was completely home style and very well presented. It is maintained as a family run boutique hotel. The family spent hours talking to us in the evening - made coffee, offered bananas from their yard. I would stay again easily when we go back. Don't expect buffets, spa, pool and other big hotel amenities. Internet worked well in the main area.

Was picked up at the airport and greeted at the hotel with fresh fruit smoothies. A wonderful touch. Breakfasts were good. Hotel had a nice island feel. Wifi wasn't working, but on the island you should try to disconnect anyhow. I suspect it was an isolated incident with the wifi and not a regular occurrence

Edith and her family were such wonderful hosts! The rooms are spacious and clean. There is no AC (fine during the cooler months) or TV (Make sure to download some Netflix episodes beforehand). The breakfast was so fresh and so good. The hotel is located near many restaurants and is about a 10 minute walk to the pier.

A generally positive experience.
Good location near town. Clean, no-frills room. Nice breakfast. Communication was poor -- they never responded to repeated emails, leading to a disorganized airport pick-up because they didn't know which guests were going to be arriving on the flight. In three days, the WiFi never worked, although I suspect it's spotty throughout the island.
