Nice Hotel at the base of the Bromont Ski slopes

Posted Jan 16, 2017
Location: Lots to do around Bromont, all year around: Downhill ski, raquettes, crosscountry ski, hicking, cycling, golf, horseback riding, ..... ++++.
I spent a long weekend in early January with 5 members of my family (young adults). The staff at the Hotel and at the SPA took great care of all of us during that weekend. First rate services. !

Nice stay

Posted Jan 6, 2017
Location: Ski, of course.
We enjoyed our stay at the Chateau Bromont. Surprisingly, it was a better experience than Jay Peak Resort during the New Year weekend. Rooms are a little small, but they are modern and clean. Really enjoyed the atrium were you could lounge around in the sofas. I would imagine it would be cold for the swimmers as the pool was in the middle of the atrium. They had bouncy castles in the basement ballroom and let the kids play mini sticks in the squash court. Our hockey kids had a great time in both - what a great idea. Food services need to be improved. Their casual dining room was overwhelmed and turning people away even though you could see there were empty tables. The kitchen ran out of their special of the day, which was surprising. Food in general is just average and expensive. If you're an early riser, there isn't any place to get a simple coffee.

No functional shower and maid service. Room 210.

Posted Jan 2, 2017
Shower dripping takes forever to get washed and rinsed. Have stayed in lots of hotels and never ever seen something like this. On 2nd day of stay the room had not been made yet by 6pm. 3rd day not at all. Seems totally understaffed for the amount of guests in hotel when it comes to maid service. When I inquired as to why the room had not been made their response was that they had to prep the empty rooms first! As if guests that had already been in their rooms were not important. We just gave up. I guess being the only hotel close to the hill they feel they have a captive audience so the fill up regardless. Their breakfast buffet is very ordinary with green scramble eggs and bacon cooked to crumbles for $20.00 per adult so don't waste your money. So 4 nights and $1600.00 later I have to say this was well below our expectations. Checked in Dec 28 and checked out on Jan 01

great spot, great structure, not properly managed.

Posted Oct 11, 2016
Pros: the SPA
Cons: Management, service.
Location: Plenty of fine eateries, go to Canael for breakfast...but book a table days in advance ...always crowded. Try also the microBrasserie near the hotel.
The structure is amazing. The management is not at the same level. Swimming pool and hot tubs were dirty. I have booked for 4 but room was set for 2, had to wait to get the second bed done. Then I had to call reception to get more toilet stuff (towels , soap....), did never get more soap in the 2 day stay and had to get towels myself from the swimming pool rack. . Gym had one treadmill broken, had to queue to do some exercise.... No courtesy water bottle in the room. Considering how expensive the hotel is ...I expected much better service. No idea about food... we thought it was far too expensive and went out ....lots of fine eateries all around the area....at more reasonable price. There is a nice squash court that is claimed to be free for hotel guests... on paper, they told me I have to pay instead. Very nice SPA connected to the hotel....service was impeccable there.

Pros: clean
we need to book for a soccer tournament, for the price we paid and the standard of the hotel, i expected a lot more., the room was so small, and the sofa bed that my daughter was sleeping on was about to break, the pillows were really not comfortable, we will not be going back to this hotel,

Friendly staff but terrible food

Posted Sep 5, 2016
Pros: The view, the friendly staff, the hot tubs
Cons: The food in the restaurant. I consider myself a foodie and I thought the food in The Quatre Canards was terrible except for the rabbit hors d'oeuvre.
Location: Went to the Balnea spa which was lovely. Had a beautiful hike around the lake near the spa.
The hotel staff was helpful and friendly. The room was clean but I found the hotel looked like it needed an update. We enjoyed the hot tub and the view was lovely. We ate on our first night at the main hotel restaurant "Les Quatre Canards". My friend and I were thoroughly disappointed. We chose the mushroom risotto which I have eaten on many occasions at different restaurants and at home as my husband is an excellent cook. The mushroom risotto was full of cream and it tasted like an alfredo sauce. The mushrooms were added on top of the risotto which meant that the dish lacked the typical mushroom flavour. In risotto, it is usually the broth that brings out the creaminess not actual cream. We were served crackers with a whipped cheese topping while waiting for our main dish. The crackers were soggy and the cheese tasted like "Cheese Whiz". For a four star hotel this restaurant left a terrible impression. We chose to eat all our meals out of the hotel after our first and only dinner in.

Hello Shirl, Thank you for your comments. We are sad to read that your experience at the Quatre Canards did not live up to your expectations. Our team of chefs are always on hand to make sure our guests are satisfied with the dish they choose, so the best thing to do is to ask to speak to the chef. We always find ways to make variations to our dishes -the risotto in your case- which could have been redone to your liking. Best regards!

Nice hotel, pleasant staff.

Posted Aug 21, 2016
Pros: Hot tubs were nice.
Cons: Cleaning service ( mélange des chambres)
Location: Location si beautiful. Surrounded by nature, amazing view.
We were there last week, it's a nice hotel overall. WIFI sucks, we spent the first day and a half without it in our room. We called and went to see the front desk et least six times to be told " we did a reset, it should work, we don't understand'. We were also told that we were the only ones who had complained about it not working , which I doubted very much. We also had to constantly ask for sugar and/or coffee and toiletries, they always forgot to leave some. Beds were terribly made. And to top it all off, at check out they wanted to charge us for breakfast that we didn't have. how could they have not keep track of who orders breakfast? It was as if anyone could go eat and gave any room number. One more think I didn't like was the fact that they allow people to drink alcohol by the pool. We had a loud, tipsy group, very unpleasant, especially that there were a few families with young kids. Would we go back? I don't think so.

Hello Elizabeth, Thank you for your comments. The summer vacation weeks are always quite busy and sometimes loud, with a higher percentage of young guests in our hotel. Since we want parents and their children to have a great time, we do allow the adults to enjoy a poolside drink or two. We are sorry to read that they enjoyed themselves a bit too loudly and inconvenienced you. If you choose to stay with us again, you might prefer the SPA section of the hotel, which is much more quiet. Best regards.
