Acadia National Park: Acadia National Park: In 1913, President Woodrow Wilson set aside 6000 acres (within what is now Acadia National Park) as Sieur de Monts National Monument. With the acquisition of more land and private support and funding, in 1919 President Wilson signed an act establishing Lafayette National Park. In 1929 the parks name was changed to Acadia. Acadia National Park was established to protect the area's spectacular scenic values, Maine's rock bound coast, its coastal and its offshore islands as characterized by the geologic features, natural history and the native plant and animal life. Forty five miles of rustic carriage roads weave around the mountains and through the valleys of Acadia National Park, the gift of philanthropist John D Rockefeller, Jr., and family. Rockefeller, a skilled horseman, desired to travel on motor free byways via horse and carriage into the heart of Mount Desert Island. His efforts resulted in roads with sweeping vistas and close up views of the landscape.

Cadalic Mountain: Cadillac Mountain: At 1,530 feet, Cadillac Mountain is not only the tallest mountain in Acadia National Park, but also the tallest mountain along the eastern coast of the United States. Rising high above the town of Bar Harbor, Cadillac Mountain offers magnificent views of the Porcupine Islands and Frenchman Bay. Explore the summit of this granite mountain along a .3-mile trail, which includes wayside exhibits about natural and human history. Portions of this trail are accessible to wheelchair users. Cadillac Mountain is accessible via a winding, narrow, 3.5-mile road. The road is closed from December 1 through April 14 and whenever weather conditions (e.g., dense fog or ice) require.

The Perfect Little Lake House
It was the perfect little lake house. It was clean and well equipped with everything from linens and towels to pots and pans. The kids had fun kayaking and paddle boarding. There were lots of games to play during the rainy days. The camp is located near downtown Bangor and about an hour away from Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor.

Excellent experience!
Overall great place to stay. Great location and view.

Great accommodations!
Great accommodations! Clean with plenty to keep our group of 9 entertained. Supplying visitors with water toys and campfire accessories was super! The lake water was quite comfortable even early in the season. The yard was large enough for our group to play. We used the house as our base camp for exploring Acadia. It’s a little over an hour away-this was a bit more grueling than I thought when booking but would probably be less taxing without children in tow. Josh responded quickly when messaged with a minor issue regarding the grill. Overall it was a great place to stay and would consider staying here again.

Wonderful vacation!
Had a great time renting this property on Chemo Pond. House was clean and well stocked. Owner was helpful and easy to communicate with. The lakefront location was beautiful. We rented a pontoon boat and enjoyed using that as well as the kayaks and paddleboard available. Loved seeing loons, turtles and were even lucky enough to see a bald eagle flying overhead. Also had a few wonderful visits to Acadia and Bar Harbor. Loved that our dog was able to vacation with us as well. Would definitely return!
