nice countryside setting

Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Not really anything apart from perhaps more evening staff ?
Location: Nice countryside setting
Friendly staff Room clean although the view was a car park Facilities in room good fridge actually cold with fresh milk good cup of tea Meal on the evening took a very long time table booked for 7.30 one course only ordered and wasn't served till 8.20 pm with no reason given for delay Breakfast ok staff friendly and table cleared promptly On the whole a pleasant stay with only minor niggles but we did ask for the service charge to be taken off bill because of the long wait .

This is a great hotel for a layover ...excellent food....They checked me in at 10 am and checked me out at 12 the next day. Thank you Norton House

I lost my confirmation email so called up to confirm what was included in my stay 3 days before. Woman told me dinner & breakfast. After having dinner I got a bill of £90 which I had to pay for A meal I wasn’t keen on, and if I knew dinner wasn’t included I would’ve took a 10 min drive into edinburgh to get something there with better food and atmosphere.And when I asked Head of reception about this when settling my bill,all she said was “it was in your email” “you should’ve checked your email” what part of, I lost my email so I called you guys to confirm didn’t she get!

lovely hotel and very pleasant staff,far enough away from the city to be quiet but still close enough for easy access via tram which was clean,quick and efficient.This was our second visit to the hotel and would always use it when travelling to Scotland.

Convenient to but not affected by the airport

Pros: Location, staff, facilities.
Cons: Duvets too small, shower heads inconvenient, the Eggs Benedict (inedible)
Location: All major city centre attractions conveniently to hand in Edinburgh via park and ride facility within 5 minutes.
Hotel well positioned but food and drinks on the pretentiously priced side. Could do some things better, such as providing larger duvets on double beds and removing the deluge shower heads in confined cubicles to make them more user friendly. Dining menu is limited for a hotel of its asserted class. Nowhere available to purchase a light meal rather than the 'full dining experience' at £60.00 plus per head including wine. Bar snacks are uninspired. Automatic addition of the alleged discretionary service charge is arrogant and presumptuous! Bar prices pretty heavy with a bottle of Fever Tree tonic at £2.50.

The front staff was not as pleasant as we would have liked. The breakfast bar was not enjoyable. The room was very nice, however. The taxi driver that the hotel called to pick us up the next morning overcharged is terribly! It was a cab service and the driver was from London. You need to provide fair and appropriate Taxi fare service.

Nice clean hotel in beautiful surroundings ..

Staff is very polite, professional and helpful. Rooms are very spacious and nice. Facilities are good and it felt like perfect stay. Only thing that I was surprised about was time it took to prepare dinner, we had to wait for 1.5hrs for simple food. Not sure if it was one off kitchen disaster.

Delightful and relaxing

We only stayed one night but wished it could have been much longer. This hotel is charming, well managed and offers great spa facilities. Our room was lovely and well appointed and the staff was on the ball with any request, including bringing us a portable fan as it was an unusually warm week. The pool, hot tub and steam rooms are all available for use as part of your room price and the included breakfast is spectacular. All in all, our favorite hotel on our trip! We will be back!
