We stayed in this hotel for one night and were really impressed. It's conveniently located just a couple of minutes walk from Haymarket Station and a tram stop. It's also a fairly short walk to the centre. The staff at the hotel could not have been more pleasant and helpful. Special thanks to Mariana and Diana for making sure our lost property was returned safely to us. I would definitely return!

    Not what it was

I haven't stayed here for maybe 7-8 years, it was nice back then but unfortunately feels a bit run down and tired now. Lift out of order and although the offer of carrying bags was given, it's an inconvenience when back and forth for the day. It looked like planned maintenance or at the very least known before our stay, so a pre arrival notification might have been nice so we could decide to go elsewhere or not. Room small, bed way to soft for my liking, and items such as the room chain were awkward to use as everything was wedged in too tight. Bar service very slow, and despite being resident had to pay the tab at a shift changeover rather than when we decided to retire. During one shower, flow stopped, went cold and then roasting hot. Little things, but little things add up.

Pros: The hotel was for us in an excellent position. Transport links could not have been better.
Cons: The noise from the road. Extra glazing would have made a difference.
Location: Location was excellent - bus stop right outside, trams and train station just down the road.

Dear Freda, Thanks for the great review. I am sorry that were was some road noise. All rooms have double glazing but unfortunately due to our very central location there can be noise on occasion. Thanks again and if staying again contact the hotel in advance and we will allocate you a back facing room. Kind Regards Alan Taylor General Manager

Hotel is at a nice location. Short walk from keys shopping, eating, clubs and historical areas. Hotel restaurant is pleasant also. My family enjoyed the stay. We would surely return or even stay at some of the other apex hotels in the city area. That's about all I can say at this point about this subject at this time. ...........&&&&&&&&@@@@@@@. Tastes good too.

Pros: Proximity to everything we wanted to do, walk and explore.
Cons: Bar cou,d be better, found it expensive and only sold cans and bottles.
Location: Close to the city, in walking distance, could always catch the bus/tram back. No shortage of eateries, and site seeing.
Close to town, on bus routes if your feet give out, good breakfast but paid extra, better if b&b, staff very friendly.

    Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Where does one start. A good clean, sheets without holes, remove the mould from the shower and below the windows. Repairs should be done properly.
Location: The hotel is a 20 minute walk to Princes Street and a tram stop close the airport.
We were very disappointed with the Apex Haymarket Hotel. It was well below the standards of their London hotels. The hotel is overpriced. The rooms were tired, unclean, mould in the showers and below the windows and where repairs had been made they were very poorly done. It is a budget hotel. Had there been availability to change to a different hotel we would have done this but unfortunately there were no rooms available in Edinburgh. I would not recommend this hotel.
