Good city hotel.

Posted Aug 31, 2015
Pros: Room and city location
Cons: Staff friendliness and helpfulness. Service culture lacking.
Location: Near everything important. Twenty-five minute walk to either end of the Royal Mile.
Room was very nice on top floor with floor to ceing windows. Bathroom was excellent - large with an oversized separate shower. (We did have a deluxe double room). Breakfast was fine, nothing special but adequate. The bar was always freezing as the staff would continually leave the main outside doors open, even when asked to close. Service from staff (with the exception of one hospitable male front desk person), was not overly friendly. The female concierge was actually surly to speak with and of no assistance. I would return, with adjusted expectations, due to the location in New Town, but very close to Old Town, without the noise. And the room was nice.

Nice hotel. Room not made up one day.

Pros: Nice rooms. Well situated
Cons: The door locking facility
Location: Well situated for the fringe
Over priced for what it is! The hotel is quite smart. Three and a half star not four.

Awesome Hotel close to everything

Posted Aug 27, 2015
This hotel is 4minutes walk from Edinburgh Waverley Station and I close to everything. It is quiet very clean and has spacious rooms. Me and my mom had a twin bed that was big and comfortable. I will stay again and I highly recommend it. Enjoy! 😃

Nice Hotel in Great Location

Posted Aug 22, 2015
Pros: Newly renovated, large room in an historic building. Free snacks and water each day with a refrigerator and coffee pot. Free Wi-fi.
Cons: The hotels restaurant, Elliot's, was a big disappointment. The food was pricey and took a long time to arrive.
Location: In New Town but walking distance to Old Town. Tons of restaurants, shops and historic sites.
The Apex Waterloo is a lovely hotel in a great location. We visited Edinburgh during the Fringe in August when the city, especially Old Town, was crazy crowded. The hotel was a short walk from Old Town itself so it was great staying close to all the historical sites but not actually in the middle of the crowds.

I had a room with a handicapped bathroom. Lovely

Posted Aug 22, 2015
Pros: Location.
Cons: Another chair in room for two people.
Location: Edinburgh Festival was on and there were things to do nearby every day. Close to train station.
Good hotel with helpful staff. Very clean. A little bit of trouble with stairs, but that was at least doable. Room was located near the elevators and that helped with walking distances.

Great hotel minutes (on foot) from the Royal Mile.

Posted Aug 17, 2015
A great hotel with comfortable beds and a nice hot breakfast in the morning (about 12£ ). Loved how it was so close to the Royal Mile and shopping area (walking distance). No valet parking but there was a parking garage around the corner from the hotel with a good rate and an added discount with the hotel stay. The staff were very helpful and the items that you usually have to pay for in the room (ie. chips, hot chocolate, water) were included. Would stay here again.
