Great location and huge rooms

Posted Sep 11, 2016
Pros: The staff are lovely and the hotel itself is several townhouses joined up, so the bedrooms and bathrooms are large. You get plenty of space.
Cons: Our room would have been more comfortable if it had not been so hot. The radiators were off but we could only open the windows a bit. Roasting!
Location: The location of the hotel is great - very close to the train station and the bus or tram connections to the airport. The street is quiet and safe.
We stayed for four nights in September. We had a room on the top floor. It was very large with a sofa etc. The bed was quite firm, which was good. The bathroom was also huge, with big bath as well as walk-in shower plus two sinks! We opened the windows as much as we could but a perspex panel, presumably placed for safety, prevented air from circulating and the room did become overly warm at times. If the top of the windows could be opened that would help a lot. The breakfast is continental style, no cooked foods apart from hard boiled eggs. Some people might be disappointed with this, but we quite liked it as it left room for a nice brunch or lunch in one of the city's many great eateries. The coffee at breakfast was fine and you can have as much cereal, toast, pasties, fruit, ham, cheese, eggs as you like. The staff were all very nice, friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is great for reaching all the sights and shops. It's easy to hop on a bus or tram or hail a taxi if you don't want to walk. I would consider staying at the hotel again in the future but would ask for a room with windows that can be opened more fully.

Open and draw up the wooden louvres as it is windy at night. Otherwise, the louvres got blown up and make noises. Doors will also be blown shut.

Very Expensive Hotel!!

Posted Jun 28, 2016 on Hotels
This is an extremely expensive hotel and there are much better hotels in Edinburgh for a lot less money!! I would go so far to say that I would rather have stayed in a Travel Inn and spent the difference on a nice meal. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!
