Excellent B&B. Ready bus stop for access to the old city - very convenient. Informative and helpful hosts.

This is not a hotel!!!

Posted Jul 11, 2016
Pros: Breakfast was good and the rooms were clean.
Cons: Friendlier hosts. Everything was locked off, there was virtually no interaction with the hosts.
Location: Nothing.
The owners were less than helpful about getting us to their place. We were ready to book losing at a real hotel when the owner finally relented and came to bring us to his place.

This is a Bed and Breakfast run from a family home. We actually went and picked up these guests because they got lost. We lock access to our private areas when we go out or go to bed. Interaction ? We welcome our guests on arrival, are available for questions , help or advice and serve all quests personally at breakfast. We treat all guests the same as our feedback confirms.

Friendly

Posted Jun 3, 2016
Pros: The little touches in the bathroom and the breakfast!
Cons: More small milks in the room for tea.
Location: 20/25 minute walk from the city centre. Open top bus tours, Edinburgh Castle, gin bars/distilleries, underground passages, grassmarket and lots more.
The B&B is walking distance from Edinburgh city centre and is also a stones throw from the bus stop for ac choice of two buses which will take you into the city too. Ken & Linda are both very friendly and charming and take every care to make sure you know where you're going and what there is to do. The room and bathroom were very clean with little additions like cotton wool pads and shower gel. The only criticism we would have is to have had more little milks for our tea but apart from that we couldn't fault it and quite frankly we could have asked. I would certainly recommend this to anyone who wants to visit Edinburgh but doesn't want to stay right in the heart of the hustle and bustle.

Hi Sadie...Thanks for your nice review....As you point out all you had to do was ask if you wanted more milk( there were eight in your room already and from our experience this is usually more than enough) Ken

A few days in Inverness

Posted May 13, 2016
Location: The City Center was very close, walking distance. The Castle and river are in the City Center. The Bus tours start well within walking distance.
The owner of the B&B was very accommodating, he knew the city and was able to give us directions on where to go and how to get there. When it was time for a taxi to the airport he not only called the cab but also woke up with us as 430am to make sure it came on time. The meals were grand, the home was very nice and the house was situated within very easy walking distance to the City Center.

Friendly B&B and good location.

Pros: It's location.
This family run B&B is convenient for the city with regular buses outside the door for those who do not want to walk. The proprietors were very friendly and informative. Substantial breakfasts were provided. Beds were comfortable and room facilities were good.

Great B&B a nice walk to the center.

Posted Aug 19, 2015
Pros: Comfortable beds, very clean place, wonderful hostess.
Cons: More outlets and a larger closet for hanging clothes.
Location: About a mile walk to the center. We ate at Ryan's Bar where Queenstreet meets Princes Street, a few times. Good food, outdoor seating and good lattes.
Well organized, comfortable beds, very neat and clean, full breakfast. Our room was cold so we called and left a message for the owners who live on the property. Within 10 minutes we had a knock on the door and heat in the bedroom and the bathroom. There is no bath but a good if small shower. The room was comfortable but not large and there wasn't enough closet space to hang all of our clothes, so you may want to pack light if you plans to stay more than 4 or 5 days. Linda was an absolutely lovely and accommodating person. She booked a cab for our very-early morning flight and left a lovely packed breakfast (sandwich and fruit) for us in a cooler outside of our door. No doubt that I would stay there again.

About as good as a B&B can get

Posted May 5, 2015
Pros: Location, food, price, quality - just about everything is perfect.
Cons: I can't imagine doing it better.
Location: Everything important in Edinburgh is nearby - the castle, the national art museum, the botanic garden, portrait gallery - everything.
The owners are friendly, helpful, hardworking and their effort pays off. This B&B is a lovely facility perfectly located near the center of Edinburgh. The city bus stops right out front making it easy and cheap to get anywhere in the city. The food is excellent and the rooms are new and in perfect repair. The environment is quiet night and day and we slept as well as at home if not better. Can't recommend this place too highly.
