Excellent 2 night stayPosted Jul 28, 2015 on Hotels
We had a two night stay in the Bonnington, we had a double room with a seperate bathroom, that was are only bug bear having to cross the landing to the bathroom. The other rooms were on-suite. The breakfast was excellent and the bed was very comfortable. There was a park next to the Bonnington and once we found our feet there was a lovely walk to the Quay through the park or on the Walkway, the buildings were amazing some beautiful properties. There was a fish restaurant at Newton Quay abit on the pricey side but excellent we would definately go again. A lovely bistro, small and always full. The walk through the shopping precinict to the Royal Brittania took approx 15mins, we would go back again and probably walk to princess street.

Great guest house, bus ride from city centrePosted Jul 22, 2015
Stayed for 3 night city break. Bus from city takes 15-20 mins (and plenty of them). Newhaven is a 10min walk, a pub meal there in the Starbank Inn with views of the Firth of Forth was an unexpected bonus. Standards at the Bonnington are superb, with fresh fruit and kippers for breakfast. We had a room looking out on the park. The house has been beautifully kept up and the staff are helpful and cheerful.

Great stay but with WIFI problemsPosted Jul 21, 2015 on Hotels
Jill and staff are very friendly and accommodating. The building is quite nice. Located adjacent to beautiful park and walking/biking trails. Rooms are comfortable. Breakfasts are more than satisfactory. Great bus service to downtown. Mattress: fair. Most rooms are sheltered from street noise but my room was noisy at times from undetermined ventilation (water pipes). WIFI: non-existent to very slow. I'm hoping this was a temporary problem ... but we were there 5 nights and never had solid/fast connections. This needs to be fixed. This is the only reason my average score for "building condition". Not sure why this room was advertised with refrigerator and complimentary bottled water. Both were non-existent in our room. I recommend this accommodation but first check if WIFI is stable (if this is important to you).

Friendly host and comfortable roomPosted Jun 19, 2015
Great accommodation for last minute booking. Host was welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was great with a variety of continental and hot options. A bit far to walk to town but the city was very easily accessible by bus (which arrived frequently). Bed was incredibly comfy and room was immaculately clean. Would definitely stay again.
