Ruhige Straße, aber gute Verbindung in die Stadt

Tiptop! Alles prima, Bett etwas klein, aber Essen, Atmosphäre, Lage, Personal waren Spitze! Gerne wieder!

It's only 15 mins walk from princes street and I felt very comfortable when I walked into the hotel. Nice room.

Great stay in Edinburgh

Wonderful old style hotel within 1-2 miles of the Castle, Arthur's Seat. Superb breakfast! Only issue was no parking--on the street and limited to 4 hours on Mon-Fri from 8:30-5:30. Staff was super. Good internet. Easy walking to some good restaurants as well.

Nice Hotel

Posted May 17, 2016
Pros: Included above
Cons: Included above.
Location: Included in above.
Beautiful hotel but carpets a bit worn and difficulty with flushing the toilet. Most of the staff were very nice but the person during check-in was not very friendly. The breakfast that is included is exceptional. The views from my room were beautiful as is the decor. Nice large bathroom and fluffy towels. Shampoo and Body Wash but no Body Lotion. Bus stop is very convenient and the frequency is wonderful. Easy to get into the city and can walk to the city center if you enjoy walking.

Like coming back to a comfortable pair of slippers

From when you first walk into the warm, welcoming foyer you feel at home. The staff are friendly and helpful, the room cosy (if old-fashioned) the food tasty and the overall ambience consistent with its history as the one-time home of an antartic explorer. The breakfast, including particularly the kippers and poached eggs, are complimented by buckets of rich columbian coffee, and no reasonable requests, including lemons for an ailing partner, are too much for the competent and enthusiastic staff. The restaurant has the feeling of a quality'local', which it is, and it is nice to find a cosy niche and just watch proceedings. It was a nice place to come back to after a 'full-on' trip around Scotland.

Hotel situated in a very quiet, tree-lined area of Edinburgh yet only 20 minutes walk from Princes Street. Quality service in hotel and glad to see and use a Gideon Bible.
