Lovely hotel in charming neighborhood

Posted Sep 14, 2016
We stayed for 3 nights as a family and booked 2 rooms. We loved the hotel, which has a great restaurant, friendly staff and is in a less touristy area. Some of the rooms can be quirky so if you are not ok with a small bathroom be sure to ask for details. Also a bit of a walk to the Royal Mile, though quite scenic and fun. A charming and very Scottish experience.

Thanks for your feedback, great to read you enjoyed our quiet Stockbridge area. As a listed and protected building we are not allowed to change the structure of our building and therefore sometimes the layout of our rooms is a little different. We certainly look forward to welcoming you back. Chris and the Nira Caledonia Team.

Bello , ma ci sono stati degli inconvenienti!

Posted Aug 12, 2016

Good location, room disappointing

Posted Apr 15, 2016
Layout of our suite was poor. Large space but nowhere to place our suitcases but on the floor. Tiny wardrobe with only a few hangers. Tiny bathroom yet an adjacent room empty other than a jacuzzi tub. The bedroom portion of the room was lovely with a view to the garden, nice light with large windows and a skylight. The bed was comfortable. The location was great. We really enjoyed exploring Stockbridge and it was a nice 10 minute walk to the Old Town. Breakfast was fine, tradional food.

Only 3 blocks from the heart of Edinburgh!

Posted Apr 8, 2016
Pros: The location was perfect, only 3 blocks from the heart of the city. Loved the thoughtful and kind staff.
Cons: Include umbrellas in the rooms :-)
Location: A wonderful walking location. Taxi's are plentiful, but if you like to walk this is the city and hotel for you!
The hotel is situated in an upscale neighborhood, only a quick walk to George Street and the bustling shopping and dining area. On Sunday's there is a lovely Market only steps away that features locally made food and crafts. The staff is wonderful and helpful. The complimentary breakfast is delicious and certainly more than any other included breakfast I have ever experienced. I do recommend choosing a suite, as is common in the UK and other European countries, the rooms are a bit smaller than most Americans are used to. I wouldn't hesitate to return or recommend it to friends and family.

Hotel for the ultimate christmas trip

Posted Dec 28, 2015
Pros: The rooms were fantastic, the food was first class and the staff were excellent.
Cons: It is perfect, it is a shame that it is surrounded by so many hills but that is Edinburgh I guess!
Location: Close to all things in Edinburgh, historical attractions, shopping, bars, cafes and restaurants all on the doorstep.
My wife and I have been visiting this hotel for 4 years now and have stayed in every type of room. This year we booked a suite and were greeted by the friendliest staff. The room was luxurious and very classy. It is situated close to Edinburgh city centre and we were able to walk a short distance to Princes Street and the Xmas markets. A really wonderful hotel.
