Fantastic propertyPosted Oct 10, 2015
My sister and I stayed for one night on our way through Scotland and we're very impressed with Prestonfield House from the moment our taxi stopped. The staff were attentive and very helpful. We were booking in late following a tour and the staff ensures our luggage was swiftly taken to our room and our dinner reservation held while we freshened up. We stayed in Room 1, the red room - absolutely magnificent! The heated bathroom floor was an unexpected luxury for us Australians! So was the complimentary bottle of champagne and hand made chocolates waiting for us. The beds were very comfortable and the room quiet. The surrounding gardens were beautiful. Shame we only could stay one night and not get the full benefit of this premium accommodation.

Great HotelPosted Sep 1, 2015
We had a great stay. The staff we very friendly and helpful, the room was lovely, the food was good, and it was very peaceful. It's a £10 cab ride to get anywhere though, so keep that in mind if that kind of thing bothers you and you're not driving (they always came quickly though).

The best hotel I have stayed at to datePosted Aug 28, 2015 on Hotels
It is truly one of THE BEST hotels I have ever stayed at and I stay at five star hotels exclusively. The history of this place is aw inspiring. I just can't say enough about service, food, and the hotel itself. I will now go back annually for a week. I am hooked.

Hotel in country settingPosted Aug 16, 2015
This hotel is in a beautiful country setting yet only a 10 min can ride to Edinburgh city center. The staff could not have been more accommodating. The room was not as comfortable as I would have liked because of the ceiling height, darkness and size.

Beautiful country escape hidden in the cityPosted Aug 4, 2015
Wonderful experience staying at this hotel. Staff were friendly from the outset and extremely helpful, going that extra mile. Rooms are luxurious and immaculate. As are the rooms to sit or dine in, fabulous stay. Have stayed in other 5 star hotels however this was more personalised .

Full of character and charmPosted Jul 27, 2015
Pros: Staff, grounds, food (especially hake at Rhubarb dinner!)
Cons: Adding oysters to the menu :)
Location: Location is 5-10 minutes drive/cab from Waverley. Small price to pay for the charm that can't be found in the city itself.
Although the building itself isn't so big, Prestonfield has beautiful grounds and is extremely well tended to. A wonderful stay,

Prestonfield House Hotel for a night of excellencPosted Jul 16, 2015 on Hotels
An overnight stay for 2, as a birthday present but also for my husband to revisit the Rhubarb restaurant for dinner 50 years after dining there in the mid-1960's. Prestonfield House Hotel lived up to all our expectations for comfort, service and ambience. Thank you to all the staff at the hotel for a superb evening. (p.s. housekeeping may need to review irons in rooms for problems).

A great Edinburgh retreatPosted Jun 23, 2015 on Hotels
A most beautiful manor house on the edge of Edinburgh. Lots of grounds to roam and adjacent to a golf course. Food was way better than average. As for service, depends upon who you dealt with. Some of the staff went beyond being helpful (Sam), while others were totally untrained or didn't care. All and all, a wonderful experience. Peacocks outside were great fun to watch!

Stunningly beautiful place to stay in Edinburgh.Posted Jun 7, 2015
Pros: Beautiful room and very attentive staff.
Cons: Could not fault anything
Such a beautiful hotel to stay in Edinburgh. Excellent service and attractive room. All amenities were world class. The hotel is within walking distance to Edinburgh city centre and local parks. The hotel easily lived up to it’s superb reputation during our visit.
