A Magical (mini) Castle!

Posted Nov 28, 2016
Pros: Premises, location, quiet, service.
Cons: TV was way too small!
Location: Arthur's Seat, Holyrood Palace, Old Town, The University of Edinburgh.
This hotel is located on the foot of Arthur's Seat, in the vicinity of Holyrood Palace, and at an okay distance from Old Town. What charmed us mostly about it is its building, which is an old Victorian house located in a rather secluded and very quiet area, surrounded by nature. I would recommend it to anyone hoping to stay in a quiet place with a magical castle-like ambience.

Amazing value.

Posted Nov 21, 2016
Pros: Just about everything.
Cons: Entry hall is very dated and slight damp smell, but room was great.
Location: Bus stop across road straight to city centre. Pub across road.
The room was spotlessly clean, lovely big bathroom and all staff were extremely pleasant. Easy commute to Edinburgh city centre by bus. Fantastic breakfast. Amazing value for money.

Over night stop.

Posted Oct 17, 2016
Pros: Our room was lovely and quiet, would never have guessed we were in the city.
Cons: Check out was 10.30 which was a bit early for me as we had been up late the night before.
Location: Short taxi ride from Waverley station, and bus stop just out the gate to get back into town. Busses every few minutes.
Was just looking for a one night pitstop in the centre of town at a reasonable price and with breakfast included.

Great Location, Great Hotel

Posted Aug 31, 2016
We stayed 5 days here wile in Edinburgh. It was located in a very convenient spot, only a 25 min walk from most tourist destinations, and only a few min from the trail up Arthur's seat. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. We were just expecting a serve yourself buffet, but they would actually make to order from the menu your warm breakfast items, and they also had a well stocked cold breakfast item buffet.

I had booked into this hotel, staying one night. I was doing a three day tour and then returning for three nights. I requested to store my suitcase and I was told that they were not insured for this and they did not have luggage storage. I was so disappointed that I went to my room cancelled the following booking and went to another hotel in Edinburgh where I was helped and felt more welcome. I have not been able to find a website to give them this feedback directly - I am also disappointed about that.

Fantastic hotel.

This was our first visit to Edinburgh. We went for the Tattoo. Stayed at the Salisbury Green hotel for 4 nights. Room was very big and the bathroom you could have held a party in it was so big and spacious. Bathroom had a bath with a shower over and a separate shower. The bed was huge and very comfortable. Room was very clean. We stayed in room 28. Breakfasts were yummy. Lots of choice. Buses stop right outside the gates to take you into the city centre. We bought a day rider ticket each day, £4.00 each and we were able to jump on and off the Lothian buses and the tram all day across Edinburgh. Our train home was not until 4pm but did not want to take our cases with us around the city once we checked out.. The hotel will allow you to leave your luggage with them for free and collect later. The train station charges £5 per luggage item for 3 hours. Lovely hotel and staff. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again next time we visit.
