Never Ever Stay HerePosted Oct 13, 2014 on Hotels
We came to Scotland as part of our honeymoon. When we arrived we were given threadbare sheets and pillowcases to make our beds. We went into the dorm room and found two beds to make them. We we returned that night and one our beds was taken. Apparently the one bed that was made was being used by another person and there were not enough beds for both us. Which is weird since we booked two beds. The staff was entirely useless. About 30 minutes later we were told that a bed was found and stripped. Unfortunately, they stripped our one bed and we had to remake it. I was then moved to a female dorm room as there was no room for me to stay in the same room as my new husband. We then moved went on a two day bus trip and returned to the hostel a night later to finish our trip in Scotland. We encountered the same exact issue and was moved into a different room (fortunately together this time). The showers were broken in the bathroom by us and the other bathroom was deemed female only because of a field trip or something. The wifi never worked, the staff was extremely unorganized, and nothing was done to try to make up for their lack of professionalism. It was horrible. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Pros: The idea that so many different people could co-habitate successfully.
Cons: Rubber mats in the bath would help the surface to be less slippery. Water splashes out and pools in spots on the floor.
Location: Close to lots of good restaurants, pubs and tourist attractions.
It was an exercise in expanding our comfort zone! We felt suprisingly comfortable in close contact with people from all over the globe. Was a great opportunity to expand our worldview! The guests were respectful and quiet when it was time to sleep at 11pm. It was fun to hear all the difference languages spoken. Staff were helpful and kind.

북적북적하지만, 편리한 위치에 있는 The Hostel(Edin-)Posted Aug 26, 2014 on Hotels

Affordable hostelPosted May 12, 2014 on Hotels
Affordable and clean hostel. Nice beds, even though the bunk beds were a bit squeaky. Close to city centre and right outside Haymarket station, safe area. Some noise from the traffic outside, but overall good value!
