OK, but probably not for Americans

This is a quirky little boutique hotel that's not very close to the major tourist locations in Edinburgh, although it's very close to a bus stop and right next door to the Botanical Center. OK for short stays; it's actually more like a B&B than a true hotel. Staff is pleasant and helpful and the 100-year-old building has charm. Most Americans would likely complain that the rooms are too small and they would be truly shocked that there is no elevator (lift, for you Brits). Hefting big suitcases up and down the spiral staircase to the lower level was challenging. Breakfast was well prepared, but the menu does not change from day to day. One of us found the bed a little too hard.
