We were quite pleased with our stay at The Place in Edinburgh. The common area is very nice and inviting, and the room was comfortable. We stayed two nights, and will stay again if we get a chance to go back to Scotland. The Place is in an excellent location, close to many things to do and has a tram stop right outside. 10/10 experience.

Pros: Staff Location
Cons: Food Wifi and TV Public rooms rather harsh and echo-ey Be quite nice to have a quiet public area not covered by the music loudspeakers
Location: Close to everything from John Lewis to quite a few restaurants. Ten mins from Waverley. Airport tram stop. Tesco Expr 2 mins down the road
Easy to book. Good location. No surprises. Lovely staff. Food average. TV did not work properly nor did the Slo-Fi but they tell me they are moving from current provider Swisscom.

Great location (every attraction in walking distance but just far away to be out of the busy main streets), lovely staff and fantastic food.

Pros: Good location, great breakfasts
Cons: We would have liked somewhere to hang damp towels. No towel rail heated or otherwise and no heating in the bathroom.
Location: Good transport links, tram stop nearby as is bus station. Near portrait gallery, shops, cafes and restaurants. 15 min walk at most from Waverley.
The Place is in an excellent location being very central with good transport links and a tram stop outside. Staff helpful and pleasant. We had a tiny room in the basement with a Velux window which is fine as long as you don't have to spend too much time there and we were out and about a lot visiting friends and family. The hotel serves great breakfasts and is clean and comfortable.

A very nice hotel the only fault is the absence of a lift and we were on the top floor, I would return again but request a lower floor.

Pros: Large, spacious and light room. Friendly staff and a nice bar area for relaxing.
Cons: Could really do with a lift to upper floors, could be noisy with people bumping suitcases up and down stairs. Room lacked basic extras.
Location: Central location and at the end of tram route from airport. Also close to leisure complex containing lots of places to eat and cinema etc.

Perfect for my business stay - close to the centre of town, all the facilities I needed and a quite uninterupted stay. Only negative would be that I was on the very top floor and there's no lift but you get used to it.
