Boutique hotel in Edinburg

Posted Jul 6, 2017
Pros: The room and the staff.
Cons: Parking was a little difficult, front steps need to be worked on for safety.
Location: Just a bus ride to Edinburg and all that the city holds.
We inched into the small parking space at the hotel. Steps in front were of different heights. We were greeted by a lovely staff person who gave us lots of useful information. The room was large and spacious, bed very comfortable. Large bathroom with nice amenities. We stayed two days and were very happy with the facilities It is close to transportation into the old town, just a short walk away. Breakfast was continental but the waitstaff was very caring and looked out for our needs. Kinga at the front desk was wonderful and Oona in the breakfast room made our stay special.

Very nice hotel, close to the park.

Posted Jul 3, 2017
Pros: Friendly staff and nice ambience
Cons: Shower in our room could do with a wee spruce up.
Location: Good location, with a small car park. Close to Hollyrood Park, Commonwealth pool, and walkable to the town. Shops and bar/restaurants nearby.
Very nice "boutique" hotel, close to the park and walkable to the town. Lovely and very helpful staff. Nicely decorated room and super comfy bed!

Very nice small hotel not far from attractions

Posted Jul 1, 2017
Pros: Quiet clean and great staff
Cons: Did not find anything
Location: Not a lot to do locally but easy to get to all the sights
The Salisbury was exactly what my wife and I hoped it would be. Not too close to all the action on the Royal Mile but close enough to get there easily. A 20 minute walk or 5 minutes on one of the many buses you could catch at a stop about 50 metres away. The staff were popleasant and attentive and had time to give suggestions about what to see and do and where to eat. An added bonus was the wine bar and restaurant downstairs which meant we could spend all day out and come back for either a full meal or just some snacks and down time. Really good value for money.

Nice hotel, staff was great, rooms very clean!

Posted May 8, 2017
Pros: Very quaint clean boutique hotel
Cons: on site restaurant not u[p to par. Will affect the hotel name.
Location: Wish it was closer to the main part of town we did not get out due to time constraints
The staff at this hotel were friendly and accommodating the only disappointment was the newly established restaurant. The food was not very good and the restaurant staff were not attentive and/or concerned with the customer experience. We waited over an hour for ceasar salads and one person did not get a meal due to unavailable menu items and dissatisfaction with preparation of the secondary meal choice. The wine had sedement in the bottom and the staff did not seem concerned nor did they offer an alternative. I felt like the restaurant chef and staff did not care.

Dear Lisa, Thank you very much for taking your time and leaving your feedback. We are pleased that overall you have enjoyed your stay at our hotel. This area is out of the city centre which means we do provide free parking, large garden and quiet area. Although the transport links are great and takes 10 minutes to get to the City centre on the bus. We are really sorry about the disappointing experience in the restaurant downstairs. This feedback will be passed onto the restaurant manager too, to make sure that this will not happen again.

Let down by the beds.

Posted May 4, 2017
Pros: The staff were excellent, as was the food - note prices are less than advertised on Expedia, continental breakfast £5 (v good), Full £10 (excellent)
Cons: The Beds - see review.
Location: Walk to Castle, Royal Mile, Grass Market etc, Holyrood Palace and Arthur's Seat (worth a walk up). Walk to National Museum of Scotland - fabulous!
The hotel is very pleasant, well located, tastefully and recently renovated and decorated, and with absolutely fantastic, friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are pleasant, large enough, again smartly decorated. However, everything was let down by the beds. The twin beds were OK but too soft by far to provide good comfort and a truly relaxing sleep, and the double sofa bed provided was not fit for adults to use - sagging sorrowfully and not looking like it would support my weight (I'm only average weight).
