At almost £800 for 2 nights the room was very disappointing. Room was small with view (and smell) of the kitchen with small bathroom (no bath) sliding door as so small. Furnishings were nice quality. Room was very clean. Main lounge was great - lovely surroundings and attentive staff. Caley bar and restaurant for breakfast not so good. Staff reluctant to take an A la carte order for breakfast (4 errors in a 3 person order) no table service in the bar as "too busy". Concierge and valet service was great.
Probably wouldn't go back as so many great hotels in Edinburgh try G&V stayed there last year and was really impressed.
