No room service We stayed for 6 days and I was charged for some dirty towels! Not impressed at all!

WE often stay in five star hotels. We just needed a simple place for court the next day in Edmonton. The Chateau is simple and unpretentious but is great value for the price. My wife and I were comfortable to take on the crooks the next day. Rooms at the back are quieter as they're away from QE2 traffic.

Clean, Friendly and inexpensive

The bed was comfy and the room was clean. The staff was helpful and genuinely nice. The price was inexpensive. You can’t get much better if you’re unfussy about decoration.

Great staff and owners

Renovations at this Motel we're professional. Stayed a lot of hotels and motels but this place was really nice especially for the price. I will definitely stay here again.

Terrible place to rest your head for the night.

The worst experience I have ever had by far. The staff were ignorant not only to me but towards other staff members. The recently renovated rooms wreaked like oil base paint to the point it gave me a headache instantly. Not fit for human habitation is an understatement. The fit and finish of this "renovated" establishment should be inspected by a professional, there could be very harmful fumes that might just hurt someone.

The room you were provided had been painted 2 days prior to your check-in and we did air it out for 48 hours, however, some people are more sensitive to scents than others and that seems to be the case here as well. Anyway, we did offer you a different room (one that was pet friendly as well) as soon as you brought this to our attention which you declined based on the extra charges for the undeclared pets.

Overnight stay

Stayed overnight room is small no place to hang coats as rod missing in room. Was asked to give copy of govt ID when refused had to give a $200.00 deposit. Just showing picture ID not good enough left a bad taste will not stay here again.

Thanks for your feedback! Since we're in the process of renovating, minor accessories such as rods etc. are being installed section by section. As far as the deposit is concerned, the photo ID policy is quite clearly mentioned in the office itself. It is especially useful in cases of emergencies, as first responders come directly to the office for guest information. To identify who's who, regardless of who's on the front desk, the ID helps put a face to the name. The refundable deposit is charged as a security measure and is always refunded when there are no issues, which was the case here as well. Friendly staff, it was quiet and bed was comfortable, you get what you pay for, wold stay there again.
