Cleanliness and location was critical for our stay

Posted Aug 31, 2015
Pros: The best part for me was the convenient downtown location which allowed us to walk to most of our destinations.
Cons: Could have used the free shuttle service had we known about it earlier. Would be nice if available later than 3:30 P.M. Parking price a little high.
Location: Sir Winston Churchill Square was great! Downtown experience was great too!
Staff was very friendly and helpful. We were told that renovations were completed recently. The king sized bed was fabulous and comfortable!

It was a nice stay at Coast Edmonton Plaza hotel

Posted Aug 16, 2015
Pros: Staff was nice and helpful. Room was clean. Jacuzzi was nice too
Cons: The gym is outdated. Parking is too expensive for hotel guests
Location: Check for food festivals. West Edmonton Mall is a must to see. It has an indoor wave pool. High level sky tram is a must to try.
I stayed at Coast Edmonton Plaza hotel for two nights in July,2015. The good:- The staff welcomed us with a smile and gave us information about things to do in Edmonton including some great info about a food festival. I requested a microwave and They immediately sent a microwave to my room. The room was clean and specious. Bed was comfy and there was Starbucks coffee with the coffee maker. Bathroom was good size and clean. They have a Jacuzzi in the pool area which was great too. The bad:- The machines in their gym are very old and barely functioning. Those are the oldest machines I have ever seen. But they have some free weights too which i don't usually see in other hotels. Parking is way too expensive. (19$ per night) Overall it was a nice stay. I will recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay near Downtown Edmonton.

I usually stay at the Coast across canada

Posted Aug 12, 2015
Pros: location
Cons: having staff, including contractors who can be trusted not to take items that are accidentally left in the rooms. I have lost trust in the staff.
In all honesty, I left 2 items in my room, and I was made to change rooms 3 times, so of course, I forgot an expensive conditioner in my first room, which was NOT returned to me even though I was there for another 1.5 days after the fact, so I am not entirely happy with my experience this time… I probably will not stay at a Coast hotel again because of this, at minimum they should have offered me a $50 credit for future stays, but I was offered nothing, so I feel like it's time to part ways, after being a loyal customer for 3+ years.

Under construction

Posted Aug 10, 2015
Pros: Improving
Cons: Finish construction.
Location: Downtown edmonton, right in the thick of things.
Elevators didn't work. One wouldn't go anywhere. The other just kep dinging all night long. Luckily the third worked well. The room smelled freshly painted and everything looked new and fresh. But the bathroom door was not hung properly, you had to lift it to clkse it properly. The towel rack was not hung properly and i couldn't put it back up. Except for these few annoyances the stay was very good. Thanks.

Not very clean.

Posted Aug 6, 2015
Pros: Location.
Cons: Décor is really outdated in the lobby and the parking garage is left open to the street during the day making security a bit hairy for the downtown.
Location: Great cafe's nearby, university atmosphere, and old historical buildings and galleries.
I was disappointed in the "rundowness" of the facility overall. Our room had been renovated but still smelled like an old cigarette hotel. As well, our bare feet and socks quickly became brown-black from the dirty carpet, the bathtub had soap residue and a grungy look to it. And the white glass countertops on the furniture had dirty cup rings and a gritty residue on it. and lastly, the room and the area and furniture around the elevator was very dusty.Clearly, housekeeping is not doing their job. The staff apologized and said she would notify her supervisor, hopefully higher standards in housekeeping are going to be pursued. Not sure that I would stay here again. I left feeling dirty and disappointed.
