Nice hotel, very rude staff member

I booked with Expedia and paid with a visa debit. When I got to the hotel I had my 200 for deposit on the visa debit. The gentleman who was looking after me first said the visa debit was no problem, I gave him my ID. Suddenly his attitude changed quickly and told me he was calling Expedia to have the hotel refunded because he would not accept my visa debit. After a long drive and just wanting a shower, I told him that it has never been an issue before while staying with them and my room was paid for as well as my deposit was ready for him. He again said he would not accept my visa debit and he called Expedia anyway to see if it could be refunded to me right away. Of corse it was late and it wouldn't be refunded the same day. He hung up and as I'm starting to lose my patience, he told me he would ask him manager if he could just take my visa debit anyway. His attitude towards me was very ignorant, maybe because I was young? I told him I'd like to see the manager anyway to speak to him about the situation. He went off and came back without the manager and told me he'd just take it. While checking in, nobody else had the attitude and mannerism I received, so I truly believe it may have been my age. It was very disappointing considering the hotel, even with booking with Expedia, wasn't cheap. The hotel room and staff I had while checking out were amazing, but certainly a disappointing start to my stay.
