Treated Like Royalty

Posted Jul 10, 2016
We stayed for a retirement celebration and were treated like royalty. Staff are polished and genuinely care about your experience. They went the extra mile to make our celebration special. The facility is truly dog-friendly and located fairly close to the river. Note that when coming in your own vehicle, valet parking area at hotel entrance is chaotic and on the corner of a busy downtown street. Be sure to ask in advance how to self-park to avoid confusion.

As usual a nice stay at a Fairmont hotel

Posted Jul 9, 2016
Pros: It is clean, very well located, and the staff is top notch.
Cons: As in most hotels, the furniture is a bit dated.
Location: There are plenty of restaurants nearby, as well as the entire downtown Edmonton.
We have come to the realisation that if you want to make sure you stay in a good clean hotel, stay in a Fairmont. Again they didn't fail to deliver, and even pointed out to us when we checked in they had upgraded us to a bigger room, because we needed space for a cot for our teenager. We stayed for 3 nights, but will be back next week for an entire week, and it was a nice stay. The staff is amazing, and the entire atmosphere is just great.

Great experience

Hotel staff went above and beyond expectations. Getting harder to find a hotel that accommodates pets in downtown edmonton, but not only did they accommodate our dog they had their own dog greeter, and they set up a dog bed with food and water bowls in our room.

Nice hotel close to downtown

Posted May 2, 2016
Pros: The full breakfast was nice. Smudge the dog was awesome.
Cons: Parking. Parking cost $40 per night. And was limited. Valet parking was available but we didn't try it as we were driving a large SUV.
Location: Unknown
Clean and friendly. Excellent employees. Always friendly and went out of their way to make sure we were happy with the service.

Ok but a bit expensive.

Posted Apr 29, 2016 on Hotels
Just a one night getaway for us, check in was easy and fast, room comfy but the bathroom was quite small. The "city view" was not great but we weren't there to look out the window. When we asked about good nearby restaurants, we later found out it was by far the most expensive anywhere downtown. And valet parking is an additional $45, seems like a lot when paying that much for a room.

We appreciate the time you took to share your experience and for your business. Our parking rates are in line with competitive hotels in the area and our menu pricing is reasonable compared to similar restaurants. I have shared your comments with the food and beverage team at the hotel so that they may further look into the feedback shared,

Best in the west

The Hotel Macdonald is in a class of its own. A top hotel anywhere in the world. People who like history will be especially impressed by the Fathers of Confederation painting.

Thank you so much for sharing. Our Father's of Confederation Painting is only one of two surviving prints with the other in Ottawa on Parliament Hill. Ours has been in the lounge since our opening in 1915 and we are very proud of the piece.
