More on the side of average, but clean & standard.

Room was comfortable, with balcony, lots of storage, in-room safe, and mini refrigerator (which froze everything solid). While the rooms didn't feel new, they were clean, and the view from the upper floor was absolutely excellent.
Service: When asking for toiletries, housekeeping wasn't too generous, and provided the "cheaper" line (instead of the better quality toiletries given to the upper floors). They were generous with towels, however.
The food: Breakfast (when included for just $1 extra), is worth it, but selection is average. Very poor selection of desserts. Dinner has more options, but nowhere near the variety of other hotels in Eilat.
Staff at the dining room entrance were anti-social, poker-faced women, who had absolutely no proper training with how to greet people, or how to say "goodbye". Disappointing.
Hotel had evening entertainment (Ukrainian ballet dancers) while I was staying there. Very, very good.
Wi-Fi, although provided free of charge, did not work from my room, (1 bar of signal and wouldn't connect).
I had a mobile phone, so I used the internet from that instead.
Overall, a good experience, and I would stay there again, but nothing extraordinary, and it felt more like a 3 1/2 star hotel.
Some of the staff, including those at the reception, apparently don't quite understand the hospitality industry --not friendly, and too cavalier with their guests. I guess many have never been outside of Israel, or Eilat, for that matter.
