More on the side of average, but clean & standard.

Posted Mar 27, 2015
Pros: The pool, spa, fitness room, all great. Dining hall was bright. Lobby was inviting. Elevators were fast. Parking (during low season) is available.
Cons: Breakfast / Dinner, variety could be improved. Wi-Fi terrible, very low signal. Friendlier staff.
Location: Located in central Eilat, it's close to almost everything. A very good location. Not far from Ice-Mall and boardwalk (tayelet).
Room was comfortable, with balcony, lots of storage, in-room safe, and mini refrigerator (which froze everything solid). While the rooms didn't feel new, they were clean, and the view from the upper floor was absolutely excellent. Service: When asking for toiletries, housekeeping wasn't too generous, and provided the "cheaper" line (instead of the better quality toiletries given to the upper floors). They were generous with towels, however. The food: Breakfast (when included for just $1 extra), is worth it, but selection is average. Very poor selection of desserts. Dinner has more options, but nowhere near the variety of other hotels in Eilat. Staff at the dining room entrance were anti-social, poker-faced women, who had absolutely no proper training with how to greet people, or how to say "goodbye". Disappointing. Hotel had evening entertainment (Ukrainian ballet dancers) while I was staying there. Very, very good. Wi-Fi, although provided free of charge, did not work from my room, (1 bar of signal and wouldn't connect). I had a mobile phone, so I used the internet from that instead. Overall, a good experience, and I would stay there again, but nothing extraordinary, and it felt more like a 3 1/2 star hotel. Some of the staff, including those at the reception, apparently don't quite understand the hospitality industry --not friendly, and too cavalier with their guests. I guess many have never been outside of Israel, or Eilat, for that matter.

View of the harbor and Red Sea

Posted Jun 22, 2014
Pros: Balcony to sit outside and view harbor and mountains.
Cons: Pool closed at 6 pm which seemed early.
Location: Primary goal for us was tour of Petra. Very convenient to airport and border crossing into Jordan.
Crowne Plaza was very clean and the staff was helpful. Each room has a balcony and a view of the small harbor. You are not directly on the beach, but you can reach it via a short walk. Enjoyed sitting on the balcony and viewing both the mountains and the harbor. Very nice and would go again.

Pros: Being located near the marina was terrific.
Cons: Water is brown when first turned on.
Location: The location with its nearby shops was great.
I enjoyed my stay, particularly its location. The staff was most helpful.

A nice hotel in Eilat

Posted Jan 7, 2014
Pros: The breakfast was great!
Cons: It was a small thing. I didn't get shampoo. They gave a body wash, body lotion and conditioner. I managed.
Location: There is a kosher restaurant across the street. We enjoyed our dinner there.
My room was upgraded so we had a beautiful view of the water. The room was very comfortable. The Israeli buffet breakfast was huge and delicious. Altogether a very enjoyable stay.

large hotel close to beach with sea or lagoon view

Posted Nov 14, 2013
Pros: spacious public areas, great Israeli breakfast even the packed one which we had one morning as we had booked a tour which departed before breakfast
Cons: a little update - new towels -a bit the worse for wear
Location: on the lagoon - promenade, beach and shops all close by
check in went very smoothly and the room was upgraded to a mini suite ( not sure why) which was a nice surprise. great view from the balcony. we had a small issue with the cleanliness of one of the bath robes but the management handled this extremely well and were apologetic. we were offered dinner or late check out and we opted for the latter.

Great location for price....however...

Posted May 28, 2013
Pros: pool deck
Cons: staff
Location: great
The hotel has the potential to be a great hotel, but there are little things like the pool closing earlier than stated hours and not opening on time. The setting around the pool was very nice and the location is great. However, there is never enough staff on the front desk.

Not bad value for money, but it is shabby.

Posted Mar 29, 2013
Pros: Location
Cons: Upkeep
Location: A quick 5 minute walk to great food and the promenade
The hotel is in a great location, but really does need a coat of paint in the rooms. In particular, the bathrooms could use a re-caulking as there are mildew stains on the grout. Front hotel staff was pretty good, but not outstanding. They have signs for line ups, but don't respect them for addressing customer issues.

Perfectly adequate

Generally very good, however a little disappointed with the white stains on bathroom floor, and also unpleasant rusting behind bathroom door. No tissues provided. Had to request toilet rolls.

Crowne Plaza Hotel, Eilat

Posted Jun 12, 2011
This hotel is conveniently located a short walk to the Eilat marina and shopping area. There are many activities to do at the hotel itself for kids, including a really nice swimming pool + baby pool, climbing rock wall, air hockey tables, etc. I was impressed that staff was constantly replenishing towels and clearing the lounge chair area at the pool. Each room has a balcony, so we could sit outside in the evening while our son was sleeping. Unlike most hotels that I've booked on Expedia, when we booked an extra bed for a child, here we got a real 2nd double bed (not a little mattress on the floor as so often happens). It is noisy during the day if your room faces the pool, but it quieted down completely in the evening. For some reason, families liked to congregate in the lobby in the evening instead of hanging out in their rooms. I was pleasantly surprised after reading some negative reviews on this site. It was a very nice experience for a reasonable price.
