Beautiful hotel with disappointments

Posted May 22, 2017
Pros: Room, view, lots of activities, food
Cons: Smoking, smoking, smoking. The pool is very small for such a big hotel.
Location: Promenade, bars, cafes, beaches, shops.
The hotel itself is beautiful and huge, has nice elevators with views, rooms are clean and neat. We got an upgrade to a suite which was bright and roomy. Unfortunately the hotel has the same problems as other Israeli hotels we've stayed so far: the staff and the whole smoking situation. The staff simply doesn't care about you. They don't look at you, don't smile, don't greet, don't offer their help. Even if you approach them they won't ask if you need something, you have to ask first. In the dining area waiters talk with each other on private matters discussing how somebody was fired and all this happens when they stand right next to your table. The person who makes custom omelette never offered their service, we didn't bother asking him. Another problem is smoking. It is so annoying we even had to leave the pool area several times. It looks like hotel guests are using the pool not to swim and then sunbathe but to smoke and drink. Although there are "No Smoking" signs everywhere around the pool people smoke there all the time. We asked pool guards a couple of time about this situation and they said "You know technically it's not allowed but we sometimes ask people not to smoke". I don't know how and how frequently they ask guests not to smoke but it looked like they don't care at all. Then we asked the concierge to address the problem, he even said at first it's ok to smoke, only when we complained a little he said he'll figure it out.

Location: ATVing near the Ir Melachim was really fun. The location was very convenient.
The place was really nice and very affordable too! We felt like we got more than our money's worth. The grounds are beautiful and the room was really nice (we were in the second level room). The breakfast spread was great and really good. The location was also fantastic, we did not even need our car there (although the free parking was a great bonus) because we were walking distance to everything! The hotel restaurant was also really good, we very much enjoyed it. We had a fantastic stay! I highly recommend.

The 'Queen' is getting old and tired !!

Posted Feb 24, 2017 on Hotels
Hotel is very tired, staff are poor ie no smoking allowed round pool- people smoking staff walked straight past. Curtain coming down in bedroom reported to front desk nobody came to fix.Bathroom was dirtynot cleaned properly , taps etc were tarnished and rusty!! Check out girl was really miserable didn't ask if we enjoyed our stay etc looked like she didn't want to be there. Best part of trip was the breakfast. Would we stay there again? probably not unless we heard that that it had been refurbished. Wifi was free but you had to re register every 24 hours!! Free underground parking Certainly not a 5* hotel and not worth $125+ a night
