Good hotel and location

Pros: Comfortable, relaxed and friendly
Cons: Plumbing and bathroom smell
Location: Excellent places to eat and drink nearby. Underground stations not too far away.
Hotel was comfortable, in a good location, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Good breakfasts. the only negatives were noisy plumbing and an unpleasant smell in the bathroom on occasions

Close to everything we wanted to see/explore

Hotel in excellent condition. It’s close to everything. Walking distance to shops and restair ants. Helpful staff. Will recommend to everyone.

Couldn’t fault it!

Much better than it’s 3 star rating, the Astoria didn’t disappoint. A lovely cosy room with all the amenities you would expect in a modern room that was cleaned each day. The staff on reception couldn’t do enough for us and when there was a problem with the safe it was fixed immediately. The view from the top of the hotel is exceptional, with the added bonus of a small plunge pool to wind down in at the end of the day. We found that the Astoria to be close to all local attractions; approximately 40 minutes walk away from the Ramblas but close to the Diagonal metro station if you don’t like walking. We are planning our return to the Astoria again for next year!

Decent, quiet location for shopping

I needed somewhere north of centre for a business trip, and this was recommended by my host. Looks like an old -fashioned hotel which has been recently renovated well. I had a room on the top floor which was on two levels.Wi-fi was good everywhere, though the TV selection was modest. Bathroom and bedroom fabulous, safe didn't work. Almost perfect.

Nice hotel not fare from any attractions.

For a 3 star hotel it was very good iv stayed in 4 stars that are no way to these standards. The manger of the hotel Pepe was very nice and made us feel very welcome. Anything we needed he was there and spent time out showing us the best places to go and see and map out for us the way. As it was my birthday while I was out there I never told any of the staff but coming back from a day out there was a ice bucket 2 champagne glasses and a bottle of carva in my room and a note wishing me a happy birthday I thought this was a very nice touch. Everything was clean and tidy and beds made everyday and clean towels. The only thing that was missing was a kettle for tea and coffee but when I mentioned this the night before we went home Pepe the manger said ask at reption and they will give you one I thought that was very nice. He even said make sure you have some breakfast before you leave tomorrow on the house very nice man. Well worth staying and would definitely stay again.

Barcelona + Astoria Hotel highly recommend!

Pros: Not one issue to quibble about, every detail well looked after.
Cons: We loved it.
Location: Very close for Gaudi Cathedral. All locations identified well on the street maps most of them we were able to walk.
Excellent location, we walked to all the most popular tourist attractions. Quite area, the Astoria Hotel surprised us. We found it to be immmaculate, the staff especially reception were supportive and generous.The Breakfast was superb at 10 Euro pp. We liked the room very much very modern with all facilities. A good nights sleep on a very comfortable mattress. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and would definitely recommend this Hotel to family and friends.

Great hotel

The hotel was great and couldn't fault the staff. The hotel is located a distance from the sites but if you are happy to walk or take the metro it's not a problem. Lots of lovely cafes and bars located near the hotel.

LOVELY HOTEL AND BEUTIFUL CITY

Pros: The decor and rooms were very comfortable and welcomming. The staff were very helpful and polite.
Cons: We would have liked tea and coffee making facitities in our room. The chocolate in the mini bar was horrible, everyday brands would have been better.
Location: The location is good, a short walk from the city. The nearby bars and cafes offer a good selection and are reasonably priced.
Everything about this hotel is lovely. The decor in the foyer and dining room is beautiful. The rooms are comfortable and immaculately clean. Our only fault is that there was no tea and coffee making facilities availble, which we would have preferred. The staff are very helpful and approachable. The location is good, a short walk from the city centre and tourist buses. Nearby restaurants and bars are friendly and not too expensive. We did not eat at the hotel, but found a lovely cafe on the corner where a good selection of english and continental food was available, which was freshly cooked, tasty and reasonably priced. Barcelona on the whole is a great place but be aware that in tourist areas prices are very inflated.
