Perfect Comfort/Location/Price balance

Posted Nov 2, 2017
I stayed at Ciudad Condal for a week while solo traveling in Barcelona. I was looking for an affordable place with the basic amenities that offered me privacy and good access to Barcelona's main attractions. And I found the perfecf place. You can get to any of the city's points of interest by foot within minutes. Or if you prefer it's close to metro stations and bus stops. It was easy to get there from the airport and back. The room was little but perfect for my solo travel experience. The room had a private bath with a little shower with hot water, a closet, desk, TV, comfortable bed. I visited during the fall season, therefore the AC was not needed on most days but in case you need it make sure it's on. FREE WiFi!!!!! The room was always clean and the towels changed. This was my resting spot, I did not spend any time at the hostal that was not strictly sleeping and getting ready for my day's activities. The staff is helpful and most of them greet you with a smile. I am very independent so there was little I requested from them. I gave them an 'OK' only because I could hear them bickering at each other a couple of times. Otherwise the room was usually quiet and cozy.

Great location

Great location and the hotel overall is in very good conditions. However there was a problem with the air and when these brought it up with the staff they were not very friendly or professional in their response.

Not a real hotel

Posted Aug 15, 2017 on Hotels
This is not really a hotel more of a hostel - rooms are part of an apartment building where some apartments are local flats and some are hotel/hostel rooms. Some rooms are in a building next door up a close, not what I was expecting given the price of the stay. Notice up on the wall indicated that you could get a single room for 45 euros per night.

Dear guest, we are not a Hostel, next time read carefully and see the difference betwen HostEl and HostAl, which is not the same in Spain. Same for the 45Euros single price, if you, again, read carefully, you will see price oscilate between 45Euros and 92Euros for a single room, as per the season. As explained in our description, and again, read carefully, we are located in a private building with other apart¡ments and flats. So.... yes... we are a real Hotel. Sorry you did not read carefully when you make your booking.

Avoid

The hotel is advertised as 3 star on this website while it is actually a 2 star Hostal! The condition of the hotel is bad. The housekeeping is bad.

I beleive you are misunderstanding our place. As you are show as Anonymous, we can not check if you have stay here, or is just a No Show, complaining about the payment. Sorry about it.

Close to shopping

Not very comfortable beds, could hear everything from neighbors, AC was found turned off and room very hot, didn't have doors for shower, and could be seen showering by neighboring buildings. We're told we would get city view when booked on expedia but ended up receiving one with the back view.

Dear guest, this is city view... actually the nicest city view to a neighboring garden. Could be seen? the showers all have screens, the windows have curtains, the windows have mechanized shutters ... that they could see them? maybe it's what you wanted, because with all this ... I doubt very much that anyone could see it if you were not interested. Regards

A shame to have to buzz into the hotel each time

As explained in our establishment information, we are located in a private building, as most of same kind of establishments in Spain. So for security reasons, and when the building consierge is not in, you may need to buzz to come in. In another way, it helps us to control the access, a part from security.
