Cozy lodge in Elkwater

Pros: In-room fireplace, fridge, sink.
Cons: Lighting was dim over the table, where I needed to sit to do some paperwork. Internet didn't seem to work very well.
Location: Cypress Hills is a beautiful area for outdoor recreation.
I stayed at the lodge for work. Staff were friendly, accommodating and happy to help.

Loved our stay. The room was perfect for us and our kiddos. Our only hiccup was the comfort of the mattresses.

Overall we really enjoy our stays at Elkwater Lake Lodge. We normally stay once or twice a year, and have been for the past five or six years. The lodge is located in a beautiful area, and very close to the ski hill and trails. We really enjoy Elkwater and the Cypress Hills area. Some of the rooms could use some updating, and the amenities are lacking. The rooms need to be better stocked and supplied. Also our most current visit, the hot tub was not working properly. In general the pool area is not as well kept as it should be. The best part of our stay is probably the local restaurant, camp cook house, which is located next to the visitor center. Amazing food and fantastic service. Highly recommended! Overall the staff at the lodge are pretty good, but can be hit and miss. They often don't take care of the little extras, like having a fire going in the lobby during the cold winter days and nights. Some of the staff are very good though. I recommend A stay at the lodge, just knowing it can be a little inconsistent. When it's good it's great.

Glad to hear you enjoyed your summer stay. It's a great getaway in the winter too! Cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, a child-friendly luge, a skating rink through the forest, and the Hidden Valley Ski Hill nearby. Not to mention some great ice-fishing! Also, we have noted your comments and implement it improve our services. We hope to see you again soon, and thank you for the nice review

Pros: The staff, and our room.
Cons: Nothing that I could think of, our stay was wonderful.
Location: Local coffee shop within walking distance, like their own little Starbuck's. Ski hill didn't open til the following weekend which was ok with us.
The staff were amazing from beginning to end, they made the stay really enjoyable. Great Job!

Location: Awesome area. Will definitely come to Elkwater again and explore some more.
Loved it. Nice comfy rooms. Fireplace in every room was nice (though not needed in summer). Great destination to catch Pokemons. Pool and hot tub were good, and restaurant staff were most excellent and attentive.

As it's the only hotel in the park it's expensive. Limited housekeeping so our suite only got cleaned one day out of the three nights we stayed. Would likely return but again room rates are expensive. Wifi needs upgrading and we found restraunt to be adequate but a bit pricey.

Nice, spacious room with a fireplace. We had to get maintenance to light the fireplace initially but after that it worked great. Good heating/cooling system. Restaurant wasn't open when we stayed so can't comment on that. Hotel is expensive but it helps to stay overnight in the park so you can cover more ground and take more time doing it.

This was a great place to stay. Our room had two sleeping areas separated by the washroom and eat in kitchen. As we were travelling with 2 adults and 2 kids, this separation was great. The location was scenic an a short walk in to the beach and tourist centre. The restaurant attached to the hotel was a bit pricey but food was good. We had both a breakfast and supper there and both were very nice.
