Nice hotel, nothing extraordinary - too expensive!

Posted Jan 20, 2017
Pros: the grounds were gorgeous the room was very nice
Cons: The prices - lower them The pool - include one for the Lodge guests use only - that pool was ridiculously busy. To have a wait list? Come on!
Location: N/A - we weren't there long enough to try
We had a nice stay, there was 3' of snow, the grounds were gorgeous, the staff was wonderful, but that is where it stops. I was expecting so much more - the prices for everything was high, for the rates I was expecting the hotel to have many more amenities, more restaurants, and shops. There was one shop, one restaurant, and a "Den" that was perpetually out of games that claimed to carry board games. The spa was average to nice, but the prices implied it was superior. I expected oh so much more. The staff was professional and absolutely lovely, but the prices were out of line for the services offered. Lastly, the swimming pool. There is one teenee tiny pool for the ENTIRE Suncadia Resort area (The Lodge, The Inn, The homeowners) and it is ridiculously small. When we went there was a wait list. The girl behind the counter told us that "but the wait list for you is small, there is only 1 family in front of you, but the slide area is maxed out and I don't know how long that will be full. It closes at 5, so I suspect that most people will be leaving then." Are you kidding me? The homeowners pay a ridiculously large sum to own there, there should be a pool or 3 for them, The Lodge is a hotel in and of itself, it too should have a pool. I think the Inn is a Condo, it too should have a pool. A wait list. Really? A wait list. The ONLY reason I will never go back is the prices. They are so out of line with the service offered, I was just very disappointed.

Nice place but overpriced

Posted Jan 17, 2017
Beautiful atmosphere and amenities but well over priced per night especially with the extra fees. A few complaints: Room thermostat was maxed at 70 degrees we are comfortable around 73/74 degrees. It was 14 degrees outside just to keep that in mind. When we asked about it the concegiere basically told me 70 degrees was enough and I was silly for wanting it higher. We made a reservation at the restaurant hotel two weeks prior to our stay and had our email confirmation and the restaurant couldn't find it and basically told us we were wrong. In the restaurant my husband ordered the trout and was brought the salmon. We never said anything because we didn't want the hasstle. The shuttle bus is a nice service between buildings if you want to wait a while. I waited 30minutes to catch a 3minute ride. It was cold and dark otherwise I would have walked. The employees at the resort are hound adults and lack professionalism. The lodge is mostly family and children which is fine but good to know in terms of volume and relaxation. Other than that the scenery was amazing!

Perfect getaway

Posted Nov 27, 2016
Pros: Suites with kitchen is great, fireplace, the spa is fantastic
Cons: Would love more options at the small store/gift shop. The kitchen in the suite is great so it would be nice to have more fresh food choices there.
From the friendly staff to the great room, we will keep coming back to Suncadia over and over. It's the perfect blend of relaxation and activities for families, a girls getaway or time without the kids. The friendly and accommodating staff help make the place even better.

Not for adults

Posted Aug 1, 2016
Pros: Our room was peaceful
Cons: Limit the kid locations! Maybe make just one of the fire pits "adults only" or the one pool/hot tub for 21+ older after 8 p.m. Silence is golden.
Location: Nice place for the avid outdoors lover.
If you are looking for a romantic location for an anniversary or special birthday this is NOT the place! There are kids and dogs everywhere and there is not one single spot on this property that you can sit and have an adult conversation in peace. Every fire pit, pool, hot tub, sitting area, and restaurant is loud and filled with children running and screaming. If you love kids this is the place to be.

Don't go on a holiday

Posted Feb 21, 2016 on Hotels
It was so crowded the indoor pool became a bit of a downer. It had too many folks and had to limit. Spa is crazy expensive and didn't go. Room service was slow due to crowds but staff overall were nice. Lots of dogs as it is dog friendly. Loved our room.
