Great location, ok hotel

Pros: The people were friendly and the breakfast area was well maintained.
Cons: Update the rooms and check to make sure things work properly.
Location: It is a great location to downtown Encinitas. You can walk to the beach although you better be in shape to get back up the hill to the hotel!
You can tell that this hotel was really nice years ago but now it needs some updating. The light in the bathroom didn't work, the bed had a huge dip in the middle so we didn't sleep well. The bathroom sink didn't drain and the furniture was old and placed oddly. The coffee table in the walkway to the bathroom is bad at night.

Hotel in Encinitas Can Do Better

Pros: The room size and hotel location. Also, the bed was very comfortable.
Cons: The staff, while pleasant was not fully-trained. We got locked out of our room because they had provided access with our card-key for one night only.
Location: Downtown Encinitas has a range of restaurants from local seafood to pub to more upscale dining.
The Best Western appeared to be a good choice for our recent stay in the Encinitas/Oceanside area but we were very disappointed. The hotel appears tired and run-down. Our room was large and comfortable but despite several attempts to adjust the temperature, It remained either too hot or too cold. Several plugs and light fixtures mal-functioned. After making coffee our first morning, we returned to the room later to see that even though it had been cleaned, no coffee was replaced and we had to call down to the reception to ask for more (which they delivered). Subsequently, Housekeeping did readily replenish the coffee. Breakfast was served in a “cabana” by the pool which was not very convenient. At breakfast, they frequently ran out of items, clearly under-planning for the number of customers and overall demand. Further, we had a lovely large balcony that was basically unusable because of the traffic noise outside.

Using expedia

Because of expedia they put us next to the noisy gym and far from the elevators Out sister in law was with us and it was hard for her to walk to and from the car. Had reservations for several months and they were paid full in advance.

Beautiful ocean view

Pros: Friendly staff, clean room, decent free breakfast with lots of crunchy bacon (bacon good).
Cons: As usual, Internet speed was nothing to IM home about, but it was better than most.
Location: The hotel is only a few blocks from the Main Street so we didn’t miss coming on the train and doing without a car.
Very nice stay with a pleasant surprise – a true ocean view. We’ve stayed at other places that promised an ocean view, but which really meant a sliver of a view only available to those willing to dangle out a window. This room had a wonderful clear panoramic view of the Pacific.

Everything was nice

We only stayed one night. On the second floor. Didnt have a view of the beach but still had a very nice balcony view. Everything was perfect in the room. We had an issue with the bath tub, when we showered the water didnt drain fast enough. But other than that everything was good. The continental breakfast was alot better than most. There was quite a variety of items to choose from.

Nice hotel, nice location, the room had ocean view and that was nice. Close to everything. I'd recommend this hotel for your stay.

Walk on the Beach

Pros: We took a mini suite, and this allowed my husband to watch tv without disturbing me.
We love this hotel for its proximity to the beach! We had a great walk along the water! Also, the breakfast is good, with a hot dish included, as well as pastries and cereal. Nice place to stay!

Great hotel for price. Lovely pool area and enjoyed breakfast by the pool each morning. Good spread of food. Close to beach and restaurants.

Happy with the accommodation

Room was a good nice, a little dated but comfortable, clean and the facilities were good. The hotel was quiet during our stay (November) so noise was not an issue. Conveniently located near highway which may be an issue for some people with background hum, but I didn’t find it annoying. Your also very close to a great beach and town for food. I would stay there again.
