Good for price

Posted Jan 17, 2016
This place is good for the 50 dollars I paid. Our room was okay and it was cleaned but outdated. Not something I care about poo it seeing as I don't live there. They do only have ONE staff member so BE COURTEOUS, she can only do too many things at once.

Arrived late as we were only looking for an inexpensive place for the night for early flight next morning. Waited 15min in freezing lobby for hotel staff to arrive. We were walked to our room up a rickety staircase , at top lay heaps of garbage left by other guests who were in room beside us, rest of hotel seemed empty. Heat had JUST been turned on. The woman who took us to room was friendly and polite, the only positive of the hotel. She had to leave and come back to get toilet paper for the room. We asked upon her leaving, do we not get a room key? We were told all doors electronic cards were being redone " first thing in morning " luckily we were in for the night. There were no batteries in TV remote, no light bulbs in night stand lamps. Bathroom dirty. Sketchy linens, slept on top of blankets and thankfully had brought our own pillows. There was yelling, cursing, and fighting coming from the next room all night long and my mother and I were genuinely scared all night and barely slept. We left as early as possible around 4am and did not even attempt to use shower. Room would suffice for a few hours, but maybe for a group of partiers, not a family place and not for visit with your elderly mother :/ with no elevators and only one set of worrisome stairs, others had caution tape around them, it was a very difficult stay for my mother. :( just don't confuse the red carpet with the red roof, because they are nothing of the same :/

Stay Away! A Last Resort Only!

Posted Nov 2, 2015 on Orbitz
The is the Red Carpet Inn folks, NOT a Red Roof Inn. I was thinking this was a motel chain when I booked and figured how bad could a hotel chain be! Fool me once, shame on you fool me twice, shame on me I arrived at the hotel on Friday at about 11:30 pm after driving about 4 hours and found the registration office open but without anyone in the office. There was not a worker in sight but a handwritten sign on top of the counter that provided guests a telephone number if they needed assistance with registration. I called that number several times and no answer, although I could hear it ring at the desk! I spent about 20 minutes calling and waiting for assistance. It gave me an opportunity to notice the cobwebs hanging from the ceiling above the check-in counter along with water-stained ceiling tiles, not to mention piles of mail (looked like unpaid bills) stacked on a long table in back of the front counter. A front desk clerk entered from the rear door and wasn't the least bit apologetic that I had to wait 20 minutes to check in. She asked if I wanted a smoking room (they still have these?) or had any pets. The room smelled like mildew! The bed should have been replaced many years ago. Some of the furniture tops were sticky. The sink, counter and mirror were located outside the room with the tub and toilet (not a problem) but the light fixture was dark, dingy and old. There is no coffee available at the hotel ... no coffee machine in the room and no coffee shop or restaurant on the premises. It seems that there used to be a small restaurant above the lobby but it looks long closed. The entire hotel needs to be updated and remodeled, if not torn down and rebuilt. A few good things ... The motel had availability and was reasonably priced. The room was equipped with a small refrigerator to keep my wine cold. Too bad room service didn't know or care enough to replace the plastic cups that I used the fist night and placed in the garbage can. As a result, I found myself drinking wine out of the bottle on my second night's stay! The shower was so old that it lacked a water-flow restriction and a hot water temperature control! I was able to take a very hot (scalding if I desired) shower with enough water flow to almost knock me to the back of the shower! Oh, an another feature at the hotel was the handy wall-mounted bottle opener in the bathroom. Geez, these were popular back in the 60's and 70's! In closing ... I will NEVER return to this motel and suggest that you may want to follow my advice.

Room was not clean. Pictures missing off wall and holes in walls. Put washcloth on metal rod in shower and it was black when I took it off. Took 15 minutes to find my reservation. Clerk told me the Inn was under three different names. My credit card receipt was for AAA Kingship Hotel not Red Carpet Inn. Disappointed.

Pros: Absolutely nothing.
Cons: Someone should start a fire and put this place out of its misery.
The room was filthy and smelled like 50 homeless people had been shacking out there. The smoke detector was lying on the dresser with a dead battery in it, which beeped at me until I threw it out in the alley, which had heaping bags of garbage right outside the door. The mattress has seen at least 30 winters if not more. My son slept in the car because he refused to step foot in the room. If it had not been 12:30 AM I would have found another place,

This is a decent motel and the perfect place to catch some z's from the highway. One of the nicer budget motels I have stayed in. Clean.
