Summer ski lodge stay

Posted Sep 13, 2017
This is a very clean, fairly updated accommodation that's affordable and close to Mt. Ranier. The room wasn't very big, but it was very clean and had recently been updated. Staying in a ski lodge in the summertime is very odd. It's very quiet and focused on the slope areas, which are completely free of snow. We were able outside on the Adirondack style chairs to watch the sunset. There is a free breakfast, but very basic with few options for gluten-free patrons.

Older hotel, but close to the restaurant & gondola

Posted Aug 26, 2017
Cons: The plug near the table in the room wasn't a 3 pronged plug (grounded), which meant I had to move the table next to the bed and use that plug..
The hotel staff was very helpful with questions about the restaurant and gondola. While this is an older hotel, you're there for the location and the fact that it hasn't been redecorated in 20 + years is secondary.

Nice hotel, close to hiking trails

Posted Aug 21, 2017
Older hotel, with decent room amenities. Food choices are limited in the area. Central location for completing day hikes in area.

Highly overpriced old hotel

Posted Jul 30, 2017
Cons: Demolish it.
Location: Try to check the hotels from Rainier Paradise side.
I ordered a room with three beds. Unfortunately, this kind of rooms seem to be available only in one of three buildings belonging to the hotel. The building was the most hideous hotel building I ever seen. It was ugly either outside and inside. There is old building stench inside the hotel and room amenities are very old. The other two buildings look much better outside (like a chalet) and I hope inside as well. The price which is probably reasonable for winter/ski season is very high for this kind of quality in summer season.

I am sorry that you did not enjoy your stay in our Quicksilver Lodge. These rooms tend to satisfy the needs of most of our guests travelling with family but not everyone. You might enjoy the "Austrian Charm" of our Alpine Inn during your next visit. I hope you will consider us on your next visit to the area.

basic needs satisfied for active outdoor person.

Posted Jul 1, 2017
If your body is old and beat up, you can just get by here. Bed very high off the floor. All doors catch, so very difficult to open and close. Very minimal tv station selection. If you are an outdoors person. Will satisfy your basic needs, no problem. Very nice staff, excellent free breakfast. Power can go out, but generators kick in, in about 5 minutes. It would be nice to know ahead of time what is going on in regards to that. Place is very clean. For me view is very forest generic, unless you take the gondola ride and the view of Mt rainier is fantastic. Otherwise view is very generic in my opinion, unless you are willing to hike into the forest. It would be nice if they told you at the gondola ride, that ride can stop while your in the air, to load or off load a large group or someone in a wheelchair. Gondola very accessible no matter what your condition. Would I go back, maybe for a day trip, but not overnight.

Next to lifts

Posted Mar 20, 2017
Pros: Close to ski lifts
Cons: A TV
Location: Snorting Elk and Deli are great
Not a ton of amenities but no better place if you're skiing for a couple days
