A nice riad in a central locationPosted Mar 28, 2013
Pros: Well presented. Good breakfast (eggs offered in addition to bread, pancakes, orange & coffee). Nice roof terrace.
Cons: Some language issues (my poor French, their limited English). Thought they were full so moved to another Riad, but they actually had rooms free.
Location: Nice location in alley behind main street. Quite noisy in our room during evening, quieter after 10pm.
This riad is quite small and well located in a side alleyway. Breakfast was served on the roof terrace, a very white split-level deck (sunglasses required). The Riad differed from others we stayed at as it can also be rented as an entire space by a larger group. A group arrived while we were there occupying the ground floor, which was where we'd originally been greeted and led to an awkward moment when we were looking for the owner and ended up in their "private" space.

From day one my emails and all my queries were answered straight away and nothing was a problem to do or to be arranged for us. Essaouira is an interesting place, I would not recommend staying longer than 2 days in the city. Breakfast was good every morning. Room was a bit small but comfortable enough. We stayed in the villa the last two days which is in the countryside and a beautiful house. Khadija came with us and did everything in her power to make us feel at home and enjoy our stay. She is a real treasure! Latifa arranged a taxi and a car for us to drive around and was always very helpful. All I remember from this trip is 'no problem', doesn't matter what we asked for! Would recommend this riad for any traveller.
