We booked this trip with just 2 weeks to plan. This cabin was much larger than we needed and looked outdated in the pics, however, we felt like we won the lottery from the moment we arrived! It is a special place! Do not hesitate to book it.
The cabin is super CLEAN and so comfortable. It's obvious that the housekeeper works very hard. It's a big cabin, with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with a full kitchen and everything was so clean that we were instantly at ease.
The first night brought Elk to just past our car, bugling. The next morning, deer surrounded the cabin. The days had birds all around; Blue Jays and Wood Peckers.
We hiked into RMNP to Sprague lake from our front door! We also hiked up Emerald Mountain from the same trail. We were at fabulous restaurants for dinner in 10 minutes drive time each evening.
Steve was GREAT communicating with us, after we made the reservation, with more details on how to access it and location. The ability to check-in via lockbox was wonderful because we could do it on our own time. I do advise arriving in daylight though. I dropped the key and it slipped, perfectly, between the deck boards of the front porch and I can't imagine how the retrieval would have gone in the dark. :)
The cabin had plenty of hot water and even a laundry room. The best modern amenity is the great WI-FI. There is no cell service out there and we do have to work while we travel. The fast and reliable internet was a real help.
I would definitely stay there again and I'm so grateful that we got to enjoy it for 4 nights.
