Pleasant surprise in such a small townPosted Jul 29, 2013
Pros: Its cleanliness, friendly staff, good size rooms, charming decorations, good breakfast assortment, gym convenience.
Cons: Maybe add an elevator to make this hotel just perfect for everyone.
Location: The location is perfect for the individual who has had a long drive through the loneliest highway in the United States.
The hotel was impeccable and the staff was extremely helpful. We had a very long drive through hwy. 50, the loneliest highway ever and arrived in Eureka exhausted and very hungry. The staff even had menus from the restaurants in town and recommended us what she thought we would like. She was right because the food was fabulous. After dinner we went to our room and were very impressed on how pleasantly decorated, charming, and impeccable the entire room was. The hotel even included makeup remover for my wife! The other nice surprise the hotel had was a small but nicely equipped gym (it even had a convenient water fountain) which one of our sons used early next morning. Breakfast included fresh waffles, boiled eggs, cereal, an assortment of mini pastries & muffins accompanied with coffee, tea, and even fresh fruits. We would definitely come here again and highly recommend it.

It's been better...Posted Jul 31, 2011
I've stayed at the Best Western Eureka Inn many times and have loved it. This time was different. I was only informed upon arrival that the hotel was sold out of non-smoking rooms and that the only room available was a smoking room. It smelled horrible. The desk staff was nice enough to give us a bottle of "Fabreeze" to take some of the odor away, but it didn't really work. The room was so bad that when I got home I had to wash clothes that never came out of my suitcase because they smelled of smoke! Next time I hope I am informed of the availability of the nonsmoking rooms before I book so that I could plan my vacation at a time when I can stay comfortably.

over pricedPosted Nov 25, 2009
The hotel itself is nice, but while I was taking a shower the cold water ran out. Also our room had no heavy curtain, so the street lights were shining in our room all night. For that kind of service and mediocre breakfast, it's too much money
