Pros: Check-in staff. Room. Lobby. Cleanliness. Style and character.
Cons: Needs a little venting in the restaurant in the morning. We left the restaurant and we smelled like breakfast as if we had cooked it ourselves.
Location: This is blocks from downtown and an easy walk. Downtown is nice. There are decent restaurants around.
Spent three nights in Eureka. This is a great place to stay and I would stay here again. Room - it was very nice. Booked and got a mobile discount. Unfortunately this got us a downstairs room on the street level. If I had known I would have paid extra for an upstairs room. The noise wasn't bad but the hotel is 1/2 block from the main street that also serves as the 101 highway through town. The mornings got a little loud with the larger trucks. Saturday and Sunday morning were quieter. I would guess to say that most hotels in the vicinity will have the same problems with noise - but they won't be a nice as nice as this one. Location - decent. We didn't like the transient people walking down the alley. But no one bothered us. I walked the few blocks to town and around the hotel. The area is being re-done and it's a mix of nice Victorians and shabby houses and apartments. It's a block from the water's edge and I went down in the morning for a walk only to find transient people milling around near the water's edge. They didn't bother me but it didn't make it a nice place to walk. Breakfast - decent. There were lots of baked goods and a daily special. They were accommodating and breakfast was decent. The service was okay. Young people working in the mornings. Breakfast was included. Parking - nice lot. There is a parking lot and a back door - made things easy. Transient people waking through the alley did not bother us but they were there.

Very noisy hotel. We could hear everything in from other hotel guests as well as noise from the street. Good location if you are planning on going to the Redwood Forest. Very clean. Not much else to do in the town though.

Solid hotel, good food.

The rooms need updating — why so much beige paint, I don't know, and the decor was a bit fussy. The bathrooms were redone and really lovely, and the water pressure was amazing. Food in the restaurant was very good, and the staff were wonderful.
