Blood-soaked Mattress Nightmare

Pros: The price.
Cons: Cleanliness and empowering the staff to make accommodations as required.
My expectations were low given that there were no other vacancies in town and that this motel was priced so inexpensively - but a blood (or vomit or feces) soaked and stained mattress is unacceptable under any circumstances. While the staff person on duty was nice, apologetic, and readily agreed this was not acceptable, there was no other room to offer us and he did not have the authority to offer or authorize an immediate refund. He assured me that leaving a mattress in this state in a room was "obviously a mistake" (presumably made by the cleaning staff,) he went on to say how difficult it is to find and clean everything when you're dealing with "brown stains on the walls and brown stains on the chairs and brown stains on the mattresses..." I stopped him there and let him know I didn't need to hear any more. To be fair, we did get a full refund (eventually, after 2 days and 2 phone calls to Expedia,) although the manager asked that, in exchange, we agree not to post any negative comments or reviews. I did not agree to those terms and feel very compelled to share this review and photos, and I rely so heavily myself on reviews left by others.

Location: Shopping and eating
Stayed in Eureka Springs for Convention-Booked room at last minute. Good choice!!

Wont stay there again.

The room was clean and smelled fresh but the place was pretty run down.( Wall paper torn, bed wasn't level, not all of the lamps worked) The appearance was very outdated. The staff was friendly though I was disappointed that I had to request clean towels and wash cloths. They came in and straightened the room while we were out but just hung our used things up to air dry.. Also... There is NO breakfast... that may be different if you arrive during the busier season...

Inexpensive but spacious rooms... very clean.

Pros: Friendly & accommodating owners, very clean & large rooms, excellent location.
Cons: Only thing I can suggest would be to install black out curtains. Lots of security lighting which is awesome but the curtains are not light proof.
Location: Downtown has lots of restaurants & shopping. Beautiful scenery all around town.
We enjoyed our stay at the Wagner Inn. The hotel is owned/managed by a very nice family that take excellent care of the property and guests. Several times they asked us if we needed anything (extra towels, etc.). The rooms are quite large with a normal size coffee maker & microwave, also free Wi-Fi. Although we did not use the service, they have a shuttle which is only $5.00 per person each way around town... that is a heck of a deal and very convenient. The rooms were spotless... that is not an exaggeration! We enjoyed our weekend stay.

quiet and friendly

Pros: the staff was excellent they were always available for any needs we might have had.
Cons: the pillows
Location: we were close to the attractions we wished to visit as well as stores to look through easy on and off the road
We had an enjoyable stay. The only complaint we had were the pillows they were pretty flat took three to make one good pillow for sleeping.

Back in time

Pros: It was clean.
Cons: Update the room. At least hang the curtains up properly.
Location: We were there for the Passion Play.
This is a hotel that is like stepping back in time. A hotel that you would have seen in the 50's or 60's.So thankful we only had to stay one night. We decided to not have the breakfast. It was the only room available for the area - we would have had to travel to Bentonville if we had not stayed there. There was a Corvette convention going on. A major renovation is needed.

Not the best value.

Pros: Cheapest $ in Eureka Springs on Expedia's site.
Cons: Need boosters for wifi; we really depend & research on internet for weather/rooms to plan next destination. Clean pool.
Location: Great biker/tourist hub, 2nd after sturgis. Lots of hotels & restaurants. Curvy roads.
Wifi did not go thru concrete walls well. Requested to be close to wifi hub and then was placed in furthest room. Should have tested wifi before unpacking. Pool was not clear. Breakfast was white bread, jam, fr-loops/flakes ~ hungry in 1/2 hr. No room darkening shades ~ outdoor lights made room bright at night. Room was clean. Manager was friendly. Expedia could improve the "breakfast incl" details; as in rate/state if a toast and cereal, or all cold, or hot-serving platters and fruit involved; changes the value$ to the customer.

We try to be competitive and reasonable. We did had some WIFI issue with our Provider there wasn't nothing that we could do. Again sorry, but we did get the issue fixed. Thanks David
