Relaxing with easy walks from Hotel.

Posted Oct 20, 2017
Hotel in nice part of town, convenient for beach walks. Staff friendly and happy. Well cooked generous meals and selection of tea and coffee in room. Looking forward to being able to go again.

Swin, Dinner, bed and b'fast

Posted Sep 3, 2017
Pros: A friendly and warm environment -as if staying in a large home.
Cons: Detailed above
Location: Detail above Visitors should be warned that Friday is an impossible day to arrive due to the \holiday Camp's change over-we were in a 7 mile tailback.
The hotel is difficult to find-the sign Northfield Rod is covered by bushes. For walking ,if elderly, it is quite a climb from the promenade to the hotel. There is a .delightful terrace with chairs AND cushions. The pool was warm and friendly-but very small. The breakfast was good-excellent and flexible choice-however if I stayed again I would not have dinner in the hotel.. The service was very poor-a shame because the staff very pleasant BUT we had to wait SO LONG between every course. Also the portions are gross- as if one was in a canteen and not a restaurant - one had to leave so much food.- and the vegetables were ridiculously al dente -we don't like veggies overcooked BUT these had simply been briefly placed in boiling water and then served..

Lovely old-fashioned hotel.

Posted Aug 29, 2017
The hotel is a grand period house, furnished in a period style. That is not to say that it not extremely comfortable and well-maintained. Our bedroom was very spacious, with a comfortable queen-sized bed, two armchairs and plenty of wardrobe space. It had a large window with a view over the bay. The bathroom had a good shower with plenty of warm water. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a quiet street surrounded by similar properties; it has plenty of off-road parking. It has a beautiful garden with a lovely verandah. This did suffer from some noise in the late afternoon of both weekend days we were visiting from a band playing loudly in the garden of a nearby pub, but this had finished by 6pm. The restaurant and lounge menus offered a wide variety of meals which changed daily and the food was really delicious. The only negative thing about the hotel itself was the lack of any lager or beer on tap, it was cans or bottles only, which wasn't ideal. Despite this, we would definitely go back as we had a lovely stay.

Nice traditional hotel with elevated location and good views over the bay. Rooms clean, comfortable, reasonably spacious and good facilities. Food and drinks were good. Easy walk to the centre of Minehead.

Pleasant stay

Good quiet location. Lovely gardens. Good staff and comfortable room with plenty of space for clothes. Good clean spacious bathroom. Personally not keen on dogs in rooms or public areas including the dining room, but for some its not a problem. Great breakfast. Overall an average stay.

A pleasant convenient plsce to stay

Posted Jul 24, 2017 on Hotels
An excellent hotel with very little to grumble about. The room was well appointed. The atmosphere quite pleasing and the service of a good standard. Alas the steam room facility was out of order, and breakfast service on the Sunday morning was not quite so prompt. But overall a return to Northfield is quite likely.
