Good for business trip to Guadalajara

Posted Aug 1, 2017
Pros: located next to shopping mall
Cons: no charge for in-room coffee facility
Location: shopping and downtown Guadalajara
Good hotel but not perfect, I had a few issues: my bedsheets had a food stain on, the lifts were impossibly slow with no option to use any stairs, and the coffee machine in room comes up as a minibar surcharge, which is a cheap trick for a few extra dollars I've never seen before. But the bed was very comfy with good/quiet aircon, and the breakfast buffet was excellent with very speedy service. The hotel bar in the lobby was alright too. I would recommend this place to others. My issues were small and could easily be resolved by the hotel.

Nice hotel with only one downside

Posted Jul 31, 2017
Pros: clean and hotel staff are friendly
Cons: The lifts !
Nice hotel with only one downside.... the lifts are dreadful, sometimes took upto mins to get a lift due to the poorly designed system.

Upon arrival , I was 1/2 hour early before normal check-in, I was informed my room was not ready and had to wait until 3. The room was still not ready at 3, had to wait an additional 45 mins. The internet in my room was available and had to call several times before a technical person was sent to evaluate the problem. Was told that the equipment in the room was not compatible w/my Lenovo laptop, but a short term solution could be provided. Technician left and said he would be back shortly...he never came back. The shower head did work properly. The room was clean, the room service was good, but I expected to have a better overall experience at the Presidente Intercontinental. Probably would not stay there the next time a travel to Guadalajara.

Badly trained receptionist

Posted Apr 19, 2017 on Orbitz
Pros: The convenience to my mother's assisted living facility and Plaza de Sol
Cons: I have been staying there at least 2 times a year for the past 3 years and have seen the standards slip slowly, but this time was the worst.
Location: Close to Plaza de Sol shopping mall; not the most updated shopping center but has a supermarket, two departments stores and money exchange.
I had my flight from Atlanta cancelled so was sure I wd not arrive at the hotel to stay and was concerned they might cancel my whole stay, so I called Orbitz and spent 20 minutes on the phone and they had me wait while they contacted the hotel directly; tey said vthat the hotel now knew I wd be delayed, and it wd not be considered a no-show and I wd not be charged for the night. I ended up having to fly out of Atlanta at 1:30am via Mexico City so instead of arriving 4/6 at 10:00pm, arrived on 4/7 at 10:00am, dirty and tired. I asked the receptionist if they had rcvd a call from Orbitz and they denied it, said my room was not ready and if I needed one immediately, it wd cost a $50 a day upgrade. Also they said I was charged for the night I never arrived. I asked how my room cd not be ready if I had aid for it but never slept in it and was really angry so he called a senior receptionist who sorted things out, but I was still charged for the night I missed and was not given any hotel rewards points plus they didn't take my credit card info (even though I offered it), so that when I ordered room service, they had to take my card to reception. Also my phone didn't work and when I asked a maid for help, she called reception instead of room service, but they said they wd pass my food order. After 40 minutes I called room service and they said they never rcvd my order. By this time I was so tired and irritated I had to cancel an important appointment with my mother's bank manager.

Clean and friendly hotel

Great service, good breakfast and comfortable beds. Only down side was some maintenance issues in the rooms. (Light switches were wonky, shower wand not operational, wi-if was weak). Overall, good!

Nice hotel across from a shopping mall

Posted Jan 4, 2017
Pros: Location, is clean, staff
Cons: A little bit more training in the housekeeping department
Location: Shopping mall. Two main boulevards. Nice neighborhood. Convenience stores pharmacies.
I was a regular guest years ago. This hotel is conveniently placed. It's clean nice and the staff are really nice. Kudos to waiter Roberto and hostess Jessica at the Urban Restaurant. They both provide an impeccable service and remembered many details about us such as who wanted coffee or tea. The only small issue was that we were missing facial towels, purified water, coffee pods and cream on a regular basis. quite often I had to call the front desk to require such commodities that were supposed to be provided every morning by the maid. Their response to our requests was always nice and expedite I guess they may have been very busy due to the Christmas holidays We stayed December 19-30th I recomend this hotel
