This is a small maybe 12 room hotel on the intersection of Route 56 and Route 54 on the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. The room was a little smaller than an average American hotel room. It was perfect for me a solo traveler and would work well for two people. The bed was comfortable and excellent linens. All the furniture was in excellent shape and working condition. All the electrics were in working order. All EU outlets. There was a small alcove that served as a closet with bar for hanging clothes and a shelf for laying items out. There was a writing desk with two chairs. A kettle was provided with tea, instant coffee, sugar, cream, two coffee cups. The kettle appeared new and heated water fast. The bathroom was small and well designed. The shower was easy to get into. The toilet was also easy to get to. The tile floor was heated. Overall, I was extremely pleased with the room. My rate included breakfast which was also excellent and offered coffee, tea, skyr, breads and pastries, fruit and veg, and meat and cheese. The hotel also has a bar/restaurant inside where I ate supper twice. One meal was fish and chips and the second meal was lamb shank. Both meals were excellent. The service at the hotel was fantastic! Everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I am very glad I chose this hotel and would definitely stay here again. This is a wonderful spot to choose when exploring the peninsula.

The staff were friendly, personable and professional. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we wanted and needed. Recommend highly. Also, they do say they have great coffee, and it is true! Best coffee I had on my whole trip in Iceland!

We stayed here for one night while traveling the Ring Road. Great location, clean, comfortable and good-sized room with very comfortable beds. The young woman who checked us in was very friendly and literally walked us to our room. She also gave us a tip on a nearby hidden waterfall that we visited the following morning. Dinner was very good and the portions generous. Breakfast had plentiful buffet options (standard for Iceland) but all great quality and the late' was the best we had while in Iceland. Would definitely go back again.

Great location within the peninsula for a one day tour but not very scenic in the immediate surroundings. Bakery was fabulous. Oatmeal cookies were the bomb!

We were touring the Peninsula so we stayed one night prior to exploring. The staff was very nice, helpful, and welcoming. The rooms were very quiet, clean, cafe is right there, and breakfast was good as well. If my friends or family was going to stay a night out here I'd refer them to this spot!

The food was great. Excellent breakfast options. The hotel was conveniently located for whoever wants to drive around the peninsula. The lady who checked us in gave us a map with nearby places to visit. We arrived on a very windy and cold day to find that the room didn't have a heater. Other than having a cold night, the stay was great.

Snaefellsnes perfect base
Ending a 17 day trip around the Ring road I visited Snaefellsnes and stayed 2 nights at Rjukandi. Probably top 2 of the 8 hotels I used through my trip. Siki was the most welcoming and friendly host. He pulled a map with every point of interest in the peninsula and what to watch circled on it and proceeded to explain every single attraction and what to do there. The room itself was very clean, sheets and all the room were totally clean. Good shower pressure and totally calm at night. The location is excellent, close to the towns in the north but also in the middle of all attractions (30 mins tu Budir). Only thing I would've liked is a breakfast buffet but it was good enough to start the day. Will come here again on future visits.
