The hotel itself was good. Even though the room was a "smoke free" room, my room had such a heavy cigarette smoke smell. Apparently, the room was not properly cleaned after someone smoked in it. Had to sleep with the window open to be able to sleep. There were no rooms available to switch to. I was very disappointed.

The location worked well for us.

Pros: Location (we were involved near the university).
Cons: Weekend maid service. Seating for breakfast.
Location: Fairbanks in the summer is AWESOME. The river is great. Denali National Park is nearby (a couple of hours) and spectacular. And the museums are good.
We stayed 6 nights from a Wednesday to a Tuesday. Maid service was MUCH BETTER during weekdays than on the weekend. We tip each day and one day no one came by as our beds were not made and the tip money remained. That's fine - but we didn't know what to expect. The facility was fine; however, there was a serious water leak on one side of the building (it didn't affect our room). Finally, the breakfast meals were very good; however, there was insufficient seating. We had to return to our room more than once to eat.

Location okay. Hotel disappointing.

Pros: It was clean.
Cons: Maintenance
Location: Was on a business trip. Didn't have time to check on tourist things.
Elevator not working. Jetted tub not working and no one could fix it. What is management doing? Best Western might want to rethink their affiliation. Definitely not like other "Plus" hotels we've stayed in.

I want to apologize for the issues you experienced during your stay. We are certainly working to fix the issues experienced. Unfortunately the elevator was something that could not be prevented and the repair technician had to be flown in from Anchorage when they became available. The room with the jetted tub issue has been put out of order until it is fixed. Thank you for letting us know about the experience and I sincerely hope you will give us another opportunity to provide a superior experience.

Very nice hotel close most of the ares I wanted to

Pros: location and price
Cons: Make breakfast from 8-to 10 instead of 7- 9
Location: The best thing close by is Pioneer Park, with endless things to see and do
Breakfast every morning was great? My room was missed a couple of times for straighting up up that was due to a miss communication between staff and my self. Overall it was a great experience.

Easy access to all major thoroughfares in the town

Pros: The friendly atmosphere.
Cons: Handicap rooms shouldn't be on 3rd floor; mirror in room should be accessible for non-handicap guests, too. Check desk chairs for fall hazards.
Location: Great location to most activities.
Great family location and staff who were willing to help with any needs. Most guests were very friendly.

Pros: We really liked it here once we got the key card issue resolved and a fan because the AC doesn't blow hard. It works but we are use to air flowing aro
Cons: Make sure your summer staff knows the locations and can help with directions.
Location: We went to Pioneer Park and walked through the town and down by the river. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. It's very quiet.
Our first hour started out bad. The young man at the front desk is not familiar with the town or how the hotel works, our key card didn't work and I had to go back tot he desk a couple of time. The hotel is very clean, but the staff forgets to leave full sets of towels/wash clothes. Breakfast was awesome and it was very nice to meet in people.
