Pros: Friendly, welcoming staff. Central convenient location, right on river. Breakfast buffet in hotel.
Cons: Room needs upgrade, more comfortable bed, MUCH better shower (there was no pressure or hot water).
Location: Recommend walking along the river. Big Daddy BBQ next door. Pipeline, just out of town. The University and Large Animal Research Station.
This hotel is very basic and dated, and in need of an update/upgrade - definitely nothing special. Sleep quality was not good, and there was no water pressure OR hot water - those are the most important factors for me, and ordinarily low scores in those areas would be enough to earn a hotel a "terrible" or "poor" rating. However, in this case the Bridgewater was saved by very friendly and welcoming staff and customer service, which goes a LONG way. Specifically, Katie at the front desk was fantastic and should be commended. She went out of her way to make me feel welcomed and cared for, moving me to a better room and giving me great advice on the local area and places within walking distance. Also, the hotel is in a great location - very central and right on the river. I also enjoyed the buffet breakfast right there in the building - very convenient and satisfying, and good value. For more specifics, here's a five point rating system I've developed... 1. Sleep Quality - includes mattress, linens, pillows, quiet, and darkness. Bridgewater score: 1/5. 2. Shower - pressure and hot water. 0/5. 3. Customer Service - friendly/welcoming. 5/5. 4. Location - central, safe, walking distance to bars/restaurants. 5/5. 5. Room Furnishings/Decor/Design - fresh, modern, spacious, clean, comfortable, amenities. 2/5. Bridgewater Total: 13 out of 25, or 52%. Not fantastic, but not catastrophic either. Not much to choose from; I'd stay there again - & I hope Katie's still there!

Bridgewater Hotel - Fairbanks, AK

Posted Sep 22, 2017
Pros: Location and staff.
Cons: Need more outlets and room to put luggage.
Location: Downtown and close to several good restaurants and river.
The Bridgewater is an older hotel in downtown Fairbanks. The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. The rooms are small and lack sufficient outlets for electronics to charge but the beds were comfortable. Convenient location - close to several good restaurants. Must try the Bar-b-que!

Great hub location

Posted Sep 13, 2017
I used this as my hub to different destinations in Alaska . The 4-5 times I just showed up and they were able to help get a room, sometimes it would take some time to get it arranged but they always did. I would choose this location again.

Airport shuttle problem

Posted Sep 5, 2017 on Hotels
Shuttle service was the only problem. Upon returning a rental car to the international airport, called for a shuttle, and was told that it was for arriving air passengers only, and that it was up to us to get to the hotel. Taxi from airport to hotel is $20.00. Keep this in mind when booking at this hotel

Great Stay

Posted Aug 31, 2017
Pros: Location, cleanliness, and price
Cons: Doughnuts with the tea and coffee would be nice in the lobby. The showers were extremely small.
Location: We were near a quilt shop, wonderful and moderately priced Big Ray's BBQ. Not too far from Pioneer Park. We walked every morning.
The accommodations were great. We enjoyed the very helpful staff. No great views from our room but we weren't in Alaska to look out the windows.
