Decent Fairbanks Hotel

Posted Nov 29, 2016
This is a good hotel in Fairbanks, although I'm not sure it deserves a 4.2 rating. It's very conveniently located within walking distance of downtown restaurants and shops. Parking can be an issue. Room felt a bit small and cozy, although fairly clean. Lobby is nice, WiFi may be intermittent, and breakfast in the downstairs restaurant is ok, but not that great for the price. Overall a decent place, although there may be better ones in the price range in Fairbanks.

Perfect location

This hotel is in the perfect location to explore downtown Fairbanks. Free pick up from the airport. Free city shuttle stops in front of the hotel. The shuttle takes you all around the city and stops at the University Museum a must see! Two good restaurants within walking distance. We loved Big Daddy's, casual BBQ place next door. The only thing we needed a car for was to go see the Alaska pipeline. We decided to take a cab out to see it.

Great base of operations for day trips

Used this property as a base for day trips in the area. Very convenient with shuttle service to both airport and train stations. Very convenient to downtown shopping and a walk along the riverfront. Older property but pretty well kept.

Decent older hotel in downtown Fairbanks.

Clean hotel, but small room and bathroom. Staff was excellent and very helpful. Breakfast buffet options of continental or full at two prices. The food was very tasty. We chose this as a mid rage priced hotel. It had that old style charm, with a flat screen tv.

Older hotel close to activities and restaurants

Pros: Location in downtown and the staff.
Cons: They could use more dryers in the guest laundry.
Location: Do not miss the Discovery riverboat trip or the car museum.
The staff was very friendly and helpful; they gave us a lot of good ideas for things to do, not only in Fairbanks but in the Anchorage, Seward and Homer areas. The restaurant was closed but there are good ones within a short walk.

Pros: Good location in downtown Fairbanks.
Location: The riverboat Discovery was well worth the price (sit on the left side). The ice museum should not be missed. Big Daddy's BBQ is great & next door.
Very friendly and helpful staff. We got a lot of useful information from them about local attractions.

Easy way to access downtown Fairbanks

Posted Aug 1, 2016 on Orbitz
Pros: The floral display
Cons: An overhang that would prevent the loud, dripping sound on the air conditioning unit
Location: Down town Fairbanks, Museum of the North, Creamers Field, Chena Hot Springs
The only annoyance was the raining loudly dripping on the air conditioner unit.
