Newer Hotel

Pros: New, relatively quiet.
Cons: Better blackout curtains as it was light out almost the entire day and evening.
Location: Next door to the steamboat ride on the river.
This hotel was an alternative to the pricier Pike's riverfront. It is down the block and while not on the water, is near the steamboat ride so within walking distance of the river. The room was large and everything looked new. Our only complaint was we were next to the stairs and one morning at 3:30 a.m. a man went up and down the stairs incessantly, banging his door each time, and we could hear all of this from our room. There is no restaurant nearby so I would recommend a car to get to downtown which is a few miles away. They had a very good breakfast each morning and we ended up using part of it as our sandwiches for our trip into Denali.

Best hotel we've stayed in while in Alaska

We've been traveling through Alaska and unfortunately we have stayed in some really questionable places. This hotel was a breathe of fresh air and we would happily stay here again. The rooms were gorgeous and the bed was so comfortable! The hotel staff was incredibly friendly and obviously great customer service is a priority for them.

Nice hotel close to the airport

Pros: clean, modern, convenient
Cons: more staff
Location: it's close to the airport and the grocery
Staffs were really friendly and they provided shuttles to the airport and the groceries within 1 mile. They also provided some useful recommendations on restaurants and tours.

Great location and facilities

The airport shuttle is a super facility offered by this hotel. We visited Fairbanks during March and arrived around midnight. We called for a shuttle pickup from the airport which was super quick (~5 mins). Next morning the hotel shuttle also dropped us to a tour company (near the airport) for free!

New accommodations and nice staff.

Pros: Liked the location, accommodations and staff. Free breakfast was a complete meal and eating area had a welcoming feel.
Cons: A greater variety than just Canadian bacon & biscuits and gravy would be nice, but one is also provided waffles, fruit, milk, juices, bagels, etc
Location: Close to both the airport and downtown Fairbanks
Close to the airport. Friendly staff and nice accommodations for the price. Free shuttle to and from the airport is convenient.

La Quinta Inn & Suites Fairbanks Airport

After a long flight I arrived in Faibanks at 10:30PM in the 23rd of March. I expected a shuttle to transport me to the hotel, no shuttle in sigh and ended up catching a cab. At check-in I miscalculated my check-in date. After about a 10 minute wait the staff was able to check me in even though I had made a mistake. The next morning I decided to partake in the free breakfast....only tried it once, cold and rubbery scrambled eggs, canadian bacon was cold. The reason the room comfort was rated as terrible was because it was very noisy, paper thin walls, slamming doors and the most crucial factor was that I asked the front desk twice to send maintenance to fix my stopped up sink and once for the bathroom ventilation fan. Twice I asked and neither time it was corrected, even though it was logged into the computer. Unsatisfactory and I will not be staying here again.

Worse experience with a La Quinta

Cons: Cleanness of the bedclothes
Pros: close to airport Cons: The first day I find the quilt in my room has dried blood, so I called to get a new one; the new one is dirty. The second night, a false fire alarm wakes everyone up at midnight and it takes 10 minutes for the firefighters to come. Not every parking spot comes with a charging hub.
