Our room smelled like old cigarette smoke. Customers are profiled and sent to different quality of rooms. I am retired and when working traveled extensively and frequently stayed at Best Western......... a little free consulting BW facelift isn't working,

Dear Anonymous, We apologize for the odor in your room, I don't know where you get the profiling statement from. We assign rooms in the order the reservation arrives. We have no knowledge of your profile just by a reservation. We would hope all our rooms are quality for every guest. We have been all non-smoking for some time now. Please don't judge a chain by one room.

Pros: Location was fine. Room was fine.

When I walked into the hotel, it was several minutes before I was greeted by the person behind the desk. She seemed to be finishing an email. I wouldn't have minded had she just said, "I'll be right with you," or something similar, but I have very little tolerance for no greeting at all. It was 9:30 at night and no one else was waiting - the guest should be the top priority. Also, I asked about en elevator (as I had my hands full and had been on my feet all day), I was told to "Please use the stair - there are only 14 of them." I may not require an elevator, but that is an unacceptable wait to speak to a guest.

Dear Ann, I do apologize about the service you received. You are correct, the guest should have priority. We do not have an elevator as I am sure she told you and we try to down play that fact by letting people know it is only 14 steps. This is not meant to be disrespectful and I do apologize. Hit or miss Hotel stay

At breakfast they were out of food a lot, coffee was always empty, one day there was no silver wear, pancake machine was broken. At the restaurant there was a lack of servers. One day there wear 30 people while we were there and only one waiter.. Our room was located by pool which was great, but amenities weren't replenished daily, bathroom ceiling was moldy and we were locked out of our room, our keycard wouldn't work.we were there for 4 nights and didn't feel comfortable as we have in the past. The staff that were there were friendly and helpful but so understaffed for a busy holiday weekend.

One night stay

Pros: Closest available from destination.
Cons: Light out in bathroom. Leaked when neighbor showered. Slight sewer smell in bathroom. 1st bed support caused bed to tilt. Needs a candy machine.
Location: Did not do anything local. Just a one night layover.
We did not expect anything out of the ordinary due to the fact this was just a overnight stay to rest from a long journey.

Pros: parking
Cons: an elavator
Location: Location was good.
Young dark hair clerk very helpful. Rooms not ready. When we came back older ponytail lady not so. I had conf. for ground floor room. All rooms taken. Two of us are Type 2 diabetics. One could hardly make the stairs. clerk said we could use luggage cart for luggage. How do you get that upstairs? She needs training in customer service. Outside doors do not lock so anyone can walk into motel. Safety issuses here. It will be a long time before I stay at another Best Western.

Sue, I apologize about the issue with first floor not available. I the time it took for your reservation to reach us, we had sold the last rooms on first floor. We always do the best we can to accommodate your requests, but in this case our only option was to switch the room to upstairs.. Our out side doors are locked at 9pm every night to keep the hotel secure. Thank you for all of your feedback.

Very old hotel

This hotel is is major need of refurbishment. Each room smells of either mildew or sewage. The staff is nice but the owner needs to invest in upgrades.

Dear Anonymous, I am sorry you see things that way. Yes, we have had issues with extreme humidity this year, but are able to control the issues you mention. We have just under gone an extensive renovation and upgrade. Just look at other comments to see that we can provide good service and good value here.
