The staff was outstanding. We threw an impromptu birthday brunch and they were on it and made it fabulous The property is absolutely stunning. The room are antiquated, but the bathrooms are nice. Unfortunately, our room was right next-door to the bar, and There was a lawyers convention in house It was extremely noisy way past midnight.

For an older person whose sight isn't what it user to be, I found the room lighting too dim in which to read. I had planned on doing a good bit of reading but found I had to go outside to do so except in the late afternoon when the sun was on my side of the building. I understand the cost benefits of newer LED lighting, however. As a person who, unfortunately must eat gluten free (celiac disease) i sound the meal choices somewhat limited (as they are in most restaurants I frequent). The only dessert I found on all the menus I scoured, was the "berry cobbler with ice cream' served in Bayside Grill. I was unable to get reservations in the Suthern Room before 8:15 PM which was a disappointment, almost as if I have to make earlier reservations before I arrive at the hotel. Otherwise my stay was excellent. Cannot say enough about the friendliness and graciousness of the staff--in every area.

I have stayed at the Grand numerous times over the past 40 years - this will be my last. The place seemed tired and it was WAY over priced. We were there for July 4th. While watching fireworks over the bay we were instructed to leave the pier over the bay at 9 pm because some staff person said the pier closed at 9 !!! That information was not posted anywhere and certainly it could have been allowed to celebrate the fireworks on our nation’s birthday celebration.
