Nice hotel, lots of extra charges

Posted Sep 27, 2017
Pros: Clean
Cons: communication with expedia
Location: private island was fun
We had to leave abruptly due to Hurricane Maria. Hotel was beautiful but lots of extra charges. Asked for $700 deposit on arrival. We tried to cancel reservation before leaving home knowing that Maria was on the way but hotel and expedia did not communicate well. Because of both of these companies, we were put in harms way and lost airline, car rental and vacation money. Also vacation time.

Nice hotel, but.....

Posted Sep 14, 2017
Pros: Very beautiful hotel and location.
Cons: Cost of basic food such as the breakfast and lunch restaurants, as well fixing the tram in a timely manner.
Location: Hiking on the beach and a canoeing excursion to see a bio-luminescant plankton which was a lot of fun.
Nice hotel but unless you pay top dollar to take a cab to get off the property you are stuck there. Breakfast and lunch prices for not above average food were exorbitant. To get into old San Juan cost a round trip cab fare of $250. To get down the road for a canoeing excursion cost a cab fare of $50. There is a tram that takes you from the top of the mountain to the bottom of the mountain where the water park and boat to the beach are located. 4 out of the 7 days we were there only 1 of the 2 trams were working. One day it took an hour to get to the bottom of the mountain. The boat is the only way to get to the beach. One day it took over an hour to get on the boat. The so called water park is 3 slides, a lazy river and a pool. The water park cost $20 per person per day. While they do have other pools that are free as part of your stay, the only deep pools is in the water park. Unless you're familiar with Puerto Rico, rent a car, and stay in the apartments with the kitchen so you can at least buy some of your own groceries, while it was a very beautiful place and we had a very nice vacation, it's too expensive.

Great for family vacation!

The room was a little small and outdated, however there was plenty to do at the resort so we didn't spend much time in the room.

It was Just Ok

What a beautiful place to stay. Palamino island was stunning. The service however throughout the hotel was very slow. Check In Self Parking Breakfast and Dinner were all very slow. There was only one tram working and that was very slow. It was very frustrating. If you don't mind slow service then you will be fine.

Fun, but under construction

Posted Sep 4, 2017
I like this hotel and is fun to stay there specially when you have kids, but during this stay the hotel was under construction and to wait for the funicular was terrible.

Thank you for visiting the resort and for bringing the entire family. We certainly appreciate your feedback and do want to extend apologies for some of the waits you encountered during your stay. The resort is making significant upgrades to the funicular which will be done later this year. Thank you again and hope to see you return.
